People were really hyping Elantra and I'm glad this debate is settled now. Makes zero sense to go for Elantra now that it costs 5 mil+.. It only made sense when it was in 3.9~4.4 mil price bracket. You are paying 5 million for:
1) Older Generation
2) Extremely outdated interior
2) Poor Legroom and headroom for the passengers (backseats)
3) Bad Paint Quality (Look up complaints regarding this from users in Facebook Elantra group)
4) Extremely expensive parts
5) Poor Fuel Economy thanks to traditional auto transmission.
I'd much rather add a few more lacs and get Honda Civic (even base model would be better than Elantra GLS)
1) Newer Generation
2) Modern Interior
3) Incredibly good Legroom and Headroom.
4) Parts are reasonably priced.
5) Much better Fuel Average compared to Elantra thanks to CVT.
Both Civic and Elantra at the end of the day are C segment Sedans so these 0-100 comparisons are useless imo but its clear now that 127 HP is not underpowered at all ( I can attest to it as i upgraded from 1.8 Oriel and 1.5 Oriel has better acceleration and doesn't feel underpowered unlike 1.8 Oriel which was very laggy).
Honda has introduced the latest generation so early in Pakistan unlike its competitors. Honda could have easily kept milking the consumers (like other companies are doing now) by raising prices on 10th gen and kept selling it.
