I will be getting my Altis 1.6 next month Inshallah but will have to sell it and wait another 4 months for gli auto

I am getting my GLI A/T in medium silver color this month (not yet invoiced), If some one want to exchange his 1.6 Altis (silver) with my GLI I am ready.I will pay the remaining amount of invoice & WHT of filer .Offer stands for current month delivery car. Seriously

EFI is a very broad term; a single injector in the throttle body controlled electronically is EFI.

Multipoint injectors, with the fuel pulses controlled individually through the control unit, called SFI, is also EFI.

Multipoint injectors, with the injectors controlled electronically fired as a batch, is also EFI.

I doubt that the previous generation Corolla used a batch fire system; that is old technology. Both the 10th and 11th gen and even the 9th gen are very likely to be SFI. I could be mistaken though.

Yes the 10th gen was also SFI. talking of the 1.6 variants. The dual vvti engine is the same in the 11th gen as was in 1.6 variants of the 10th gen (gli auto + cruisetronic). Even the 2zr fe of the 1.8l altis is also technologically the same, only bigger size than the 1zr fe and coupled with an improved intake manifold (ACIS)

Today I took a test drive of gli automatic at showroom and must say it's superb, light nd boosted acceleration whenever needed,
This clears my misconception that gli auto is underpowered (it is definitely not)
I had booked Altis 1.6, now will sell it in market and book a gli auto for my self

Finally received my medium silver Altis 1.6 on saturday. here are the first impressions in comparison to the 9th gen xli and 10th gen gli i own.

1. The build quality is generally good. Equivalent to the 10th gen at least. even the tail light was perfectly aligned :o might be the dealership got it fixed before i took delivery. No over spray any where. no rattling sounds or misaligned panels in the interior (it was common in the 9th gen).

2. The sound proofing is much improved. Though the dealership guy said it's cos the same insulation sheet (35% denser) is used in altis 1.6 as is in grande and that the new gli is similar to my old gli so it's a difference of variant and not generation - not sure how true that is. The interior is also more spacious.

3. The running performance is good. can barely hear the engine even at 120 unless you're flooring it for a rapid acceleration to overtake etc. good control and stability.

4. On the downside the entertainment system is quite ordinary in terms of screen brightness. can barely see anything in bright sunlight even with brightness at max. Even the Chinese system in my 10th gen is far better.

5. The euros have gone from bad to worse. They are not only bouncy and noisy, but also have a joint in them now. the ones i had in my 10th gen were joint less. This makes these a big hazard on highways if you don't get your pressure checked every few days - the joint method of tire manufacture was identified as the prime cause of the firestone tire bursts. got them replaced with the proven advan DB.

Quite happy with the car over all

Not sure but dealership guy was saying that they do it randomly, eg they can send all whites and black together, silver and gun metallic together etc. They may change priority but the month remains same (most probably) as mentioned in PBO.

Congratulations. Check tire pressures, mine came with 60 psi and in some tires 40 psi. Bring them to 30 and they would be as good as Japaaani tires
