Brother, thank you for sharing your wonderful thread that I have traveled through in one go.

I need some more information:

How is the road condition between Besham and Patan...it was terrible when I drove on this route last year in June. And between Jaglot and Gilgit?

Similarly what is the condition/travel time between Gilgit/skardu, skardu/khaplu, skardu/hushe and skardu/shigar?

How would you compare skardu/hushe jeep track to a store/trishing jeep track? I am asking as I tried reaching trishing on my car and managed one km before trishing where a glacier had blocked the way.

Where did you stay at khaplu and shigar?

Sorry for the late reply i was out of city.

Road from besham to patan is ok, but after crossing dasu it becomes insufferable.

Road from Giligt to jaglot(N35) is very good but jaglot onwards road condition is not good. You can reach skardu in 7-8 hours on a jeep.

Road conditions from skaudu to shiger and khaplue is good. But the track from khaplue to hushe is not good you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach there.

From Skardu you can reach khaplu in 2.5 hours and in 2-3 hours you can reach Hushe from khaplu.

We didn't spent night at shigar we came back to skardu at night.

Magar bhai ap ko bura na lage to me apna aitaraz pesh kerna chahta hun.....apki photographs me HDR ka istamal kuch munasib nai lag raha.
Photos bohot achi hain magar asal (reality) me aise colors to nahi nazar atay....aur Ba-Khuda me bhi gaya hun inn sari jagaho pe to zaati tajurbay ki bina pe bol raha hun. Kuch jaali jaali sa lag raha he tasaweer me.

border pe koi jan pehchan hai ....pakistan bhag ane ka man karta hai itni beauty dekh ke...i live for hills, nature and drives...and less for nations..

heaven for a driver but I doubt my VW POLO would make it or not..if it ever visit pak

Thanks, car per yeh safer kiya toe ja sakta hai lakin mein yeh bilkul bhi recommend nahin keron ga, mera mashwera yehi hoo ga kai jeep hi use kerei , kuon kai desosai mein sirf dirt track hai aur ager thori si bhi barish ho gai toe car kai liye bohat masla ban jaye ga.

hi,

We did not crossed the glacier, track which we used took us toward the view point and ended there, we hiked for almost a hour to reach the viewpoint, from where you can view both trashing and rupal valley. I think we were on wrong track because when we reached view point we saw another jeep track going toward rupal from tarshing side.

We left Tarshing in morning and reached bara pani late in the evening. Because due to land sliding road from chilum to deosai was closed and we waited for at least 2 hours in chilum. If i remember correctly We left tarshing around 08:30, we reached chilum around 11-00 am and left chilum around 01-15 and reached sheosar lake around 02-00 pm. After stay of an hour at the lake we left sheosar around 03-00 pm and reached bara pani around 05-45 pm. But one more thing you need to consider is that we made many stops after we left chilum. I would recommend to keep a full day in your schedule for tarshing to barapani.
