Thanks. These are kind words indeed.
To be honest, I doubt if there are bargains like that (a '65 in 35K) to be made any more. A while ago, I picked up a complete hunk-of-junk '65, for double that amount, and had to return it because the person was getting dodgy with delivering the papers!
When it comes to such vehicles, I think you pay the price of your own "shauq", because there really isn't a reasonable price tag for such rides. It just doesn't make any financial sense whatsoever, to pick up a rust-bucket for any price at all, what to speak of spending a huge amount of time and money on it, later. One's "shauq" has to be carefully weighed against one's fiscal ability / purchasing power. If that makes sense.
Lastly, there's the matter of being "a man with a plan" regarding such vehicles. There are people out there who'll spend untold millions on returning a ride to factory specs, and at the same time, there're people who spend even more on creating modified-pumped-up-testosterone-driven rides that have hardly anything original left any longer. Again, I think it's always a good idea to carefully consider what you want to do with your vehicle, before you actually embark upon such a venture. Second guesses and changes of heart, can be not just expensive, but at times, impossible, too.
Personally, I just have a thing for '60s Impalas. OBVIOUSLY.
