@safeershah: The engine is from a 2009 Chevy Lumina SS, in Dubai.
You're right when you say that there are very few vintage cars in Pakistan. Most of them, are sold to kabaariyas, and are melted down to become Dalda ke teen dabbey. Why? Because very few people are willing to take the plunge and go about restoring / rebuilding them. At the same time, I'm sure that there's a fairly large number of vintage cars in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but I'm yet to come across very many of them being driven around on the roads and streets on a regular basis.
My idea of these cars is different in both aspects. I bring these vehicles back to life just for the joy of it, and because they're so incredibly beautiful to own and possess. And I drive them every day; because they bring me and my family such pleasure. In the process, I find it perfectly acceptable to do whatever strikes my fancy at the time, to make the vehicle more desirable/practical/utilitarian to me...whether that pertains to the engine or body-work or interior. And to achieve this, I'll take my time and plan, and conceptualise, and strategise what is to be done, and how to do it, painstakingly (I bought the Impala 2 months ago, and I'm still procrastinating on what I plan on doing with it!).
The single overriding factor is: it should be tasteful, and add to the beauty of these old machines, rather than detract from it.
Thank you for your input, though.
