The 'LAST' Update
Insha Allah, the '67 will be coming home tomorrow.
The engine's been broken in slightly, after a combination of static running and some gentle road-running, too. The interior is complete. So is the exterior. The windows have been blacked out, the brake drums have received their final coat of paint, and the interior has been cleaned.
This project has been a long, long time in the making...but I have a feeling that we've left absolutely nothing undone. Every nut, bolt, thread, screw, bush, washer, mounting, foundation, hinge, and piece of glass has gone under the microscope. In its own way, this has been a project that has rivaled that of the Phantom; in that it's taken place with a car that is virtually non-existent in our country. The Phantom, with its FJ40 shape, made it easy to scour around for parts. On the other hand, IF there ARE any '67 Impalas around, you certainly don't see very many of them on the road.
As this Impala leaves the workshop, God Willing, the Phantom will be taking up temporary residence there, to get its final coat of paint and exterior finishing. More about that on the Phantom thread, though. As perhaps the last 'update' on this thread (since now, we'll only be posting pictures and videos of the '65 and '67 on here), I'd like to thank everyone who's been of help in providing moral support and encouragement; without which, this rebuild would certainly not have been this much fun, and this educative.
Thanks, all...
Fouad.
