he already disclosed its a type 181. interesting vehicle no doubt. I once saw one with reduction drives in the hubs, that thing was slower than hell but for sure it could haul anything and climb with load too.

Reduction drives, known as Reduction Gear Boxes (RGBs) came only in the earliest THINGS (Type181s) i.e. 1969-1971, in other words in the type181s that were produced either in Bundeswehr or Wolfsburg. Hannover, Emden & Mexican type181s came with the IRS setup at the rear drive train.

RGBs ensured that the climbing/field capability of the type181s was greater with the delivered HPs on the 1.5L flat four motors that were propelling early type181s making it one of the most innovative utilitarian vehicles of its time. So the prime motive to place RGBs was to enhance the climbing capcbilities of these cars even if the speed was slowed down due to their placement (which wasn't a priority in war fields).

I have also seen a very old bus with such reduction drives - they were junked when the owner put a toieta deeezal in the back and used it as a school bus.

Well its not me who is stretching the disclosure on the next project but its the slow excise and taxation department of Pakistan who is a lazy a$$ snail in processing the documents of ownership of the project car. But I am onto it and hopefully things would be sorted out soon and then, you could get to learn about it and the story behind it. Thanks for your patience

swastikas would be more awesome... In my younger days we did something stupid on Halloween in Karachi, involving a ponton mercedes, a swastika flag and Abdullah Haroon Road.

Patina just got her German Military Signs on.

- An enemy high rank hunting division's Unit 42's Operative Information Group Logo on Decklid and Front Hood;
- An enemy high rank hunting division's logo, a "Flying Hound" on the rear left fender

Last two are the paper stencils that were used to paint these logos on Patina using a matt black spray can.

reezvaan u know u have made this one super fine (the running dog sign), every detail of the dog sign is so gud ... and it fits perfect on the beetle! I will try hand drawing it!!!

Its like beetle got tattoos.

The inside panels of fenders on the main body shells (as can be seen in the pic below) are in fabulous condition, with no rusting and minimal depreciation to the original color. My question is how these areas can be preserved for furture. Please suggest a treatment.

The inside area is entirely resprayed. Awful car in awful condition.

to preserve you need to coat it with waxoyl or keep it squeaky clean, wash with plain water or a very mild soap if dirty. Do not let any mud or dirt settle into crevices.
