Ok the wait is over. Towel Rails are molded and shaped and have just been collected from Ustaad Iqbal aka Baali. Even though I bought the best quality steel pipe to match the chromium glow of the original German towel rails but the comparison of the two shames today's steel glow.

Other than the fact that there are stretch marks that are rather killing the overall comparison of the two, things are pretty hearty. But then I guess thats the best that could be done locally.

Even though the rails are not ready yet to be mounted to blades since the ends need to be trimmed and fitted with screw holes for mounting the rails on the blades but still I thought sharing pictures of the result of the local fabrication so far would give you guys an idea of what is exactly happening. Pictures; Just note the difference of the shine, the OG towel rails and the fabricated, which need not be told which one is which

Caution: Pictures are low quality (will try and get you better pictures at day time sometime soon)

The gaps you see in the last picture of comparison of the front bumper towel rail are due to the fact that the original towel rail is out of shape as its beaten as it was struck when Patina was in the possession of PO.

About the marred chrome finish on the newly fabricated rails, it would be uplited once it gets buffed, though it would never be as shiny as the original ones but I am still hopeful that the uplift would be considerable after some hardwork on buffing and polishing.

So what do you guys think of the job?

They look pretty good for a replica, what gauge did you use?

If they can make towel rails then I think the pea shooter exhaust pipes won't be a problem for them to make either.

Yeah Exhaust, be it stinger or another shape, is no biggy with the kind of stuff this guy does, with the kind of setup he has, although he surely needs a sample to work with.

Thanks for the share. I was always confused regarding the throttle cable spring on a 28pict. All others have vertically installed springs right?

Nice show.. Now just get a teflon sleeve to cover it. Takes 5 minutes on a bench lathe. - hmm wait - maybe im still stuck in old MB thought.
