you did not need NOS items - the mk1 and mk2 Golfs and nearly all early water cooled VW apps take those, anyway - for true german wiring fashion get rid of the ring type plastic pipe and install heat resistant cloth sleeving on the wires like it was when it left the factory - the main wire is red and the modern VWs used a blue wire as the exciter.

I needed to use the ring type insulator because the cloth type isn't available anywhere near me (and that includes US/Europe too). I am sure someday I am going to get ample supply of the OG cloth type insulating tape (perhaps correct repro of original that VW used) and then I am going to redo these bits both on Patina as well as ELK.

May be you could tell me about some kind of similar product's availability in KHI somewhere?

The fabric insulation was easily available in Karachi - it is used in repairing motors when the windings legs need to poke out. For genuine fabric tape google tesa fabric insulation tape, they are the OE supplier to VW, MB and BMW. It is used to bunch wires together.

where did you get these running boards? who make them and how much they cost?
another question, my bumper is again getting rust... how to prevent that as i only gave it for cleaning in the beginning and did not rechrome it but still it is getting rust...
