Earlier this morning when I tried to take Patina out for a short spin as she has been parked for quite some time now over the last week and half, I realized that the brake pedal went flat while I was getting her out of the porch.

It was an uncalled for event and I hurriedly had to use the emergency brake which worked just fine over the porch slope.

Upon inspection, I found the brake fluid reservoir emptied which was totally surprising as there were no signs of leakage on either of the four wheels. I thought what had caused this had everything to do with the brake line instead of brake warshers or cylinders or even brake pipes.

Refilled the reservoir and pumped the pedal a few times and all I could hear was sound of a shower coming from rear (under the seat), which meant its some leakage in the metal brake line some where in the rear/middle portion of the spine.

When there was a little bit of broad day light, I inspected the brake line and found this under the driver's seat:

Brake line is leaked and would need replacement. Will have to source the stock metal brake line as I dont have it in my spares. While I do that, I would rather be changing the whole setup of brake metal lines. Any suggestions gentlemen? Tips on DOs and DONTs?

The simplest and totally reversible option is to run a line alongside the tunnel inside the car, exiting close to the transmission and joining the brake fluid 'T' I had the option of buying original German complete metal brake lines as a lot a couple of years back but I passed. (there is only that much that one can buy and store..) I'll see if I can find some online.

Cool! This looks like a US military use equipment. Put a block of ice inside, close the lid and check after a week. I am pretty sure there would still be a lot of ice left at the end of the week.

I concur with "there is only that much that one can buy and store.."

Yep, I am planning a replacement as described above but then the only brake lines that are available in the market include the aftermarket customized lines which Waseem/Pappu-RWP is offering. I am not too sure about the quality of those lines and since its about brake line, I dont want to take chances.

Another option would be to uninstall this existing pipe line and get it spot welded until such time when the proper replacedment is available to go on Patina.

Will see what suits best for now and will choose that option. Thanks for the help.

Khalid is your best bet. he uses the appropriate pipe and threads it nicely so it remains out of harms way. Talk to him.
