the master cylinder is probably a modern honda/toyota/subaru jobbie. The old square container style is quite easy to find, just ask for a mazda B2200 master cylinder and container. Mazda had a good tradition of being lazy in updating parts styles.

yep thats the plan to chug in a NA 12a with matching box into the pella that i am bringing in from abroad though it would take a while before it arrives but hopefully all worth it

everything is possible my friend the only question is how far you are willing to go in terms of bearing costs because you are not going to find one locally

today's delivery - the MAG slotted wheels with huge lip, will need refinishing but will turn out head turners

as both AMG-CSA & MAG slotted wheels were claimed by a fellow mazda nut, i picked up these 14"x7" - 4x114 work equip-01s for pella today, will need redoing but will buff out. not good enough lip on them but beggars are not choosers so here they are. would arrive early next week

didn't get to get better pics, front suspension is all on the floor

crossmember however is still on the car because one of the nuts holding it onto chassis was slipped and might need a little persuation to be undone before it could be removed

will get detailed pics of the rusty crusty suspension bits in the morning
hopefully, tomorrow being a holiday, we would be able to strip the whole shell, if not, there is always another day to finish the job
once the shell is stripped, it would be mounted to rotisserie right away but my backup rotisserie might need a little modification to mount this shell on. will see when its time

my backup rotisserie, it was fabricated in house a long time ago in my prime. cant really say what it would cost today. it cost me a few hard earned bucks in early nineties.

it might cost 20k plus these days, i am guessing but in the end it all depends on what kind of flexibility of operation you want out of it (read versatility)

full steam ahead. shell free of all mechanicals now, interior half striped. all that would remain to be striped would be electrical wiring and the trim with windows by the night today

since the last pic was taken, steering box and the brake lines were all removed. car is free of seats and cabin plastics. as of now, dash and door cards remain to be removed which i intend to remove tonight

will hopefully remove the electrical wiring and the exterior trim tomorrow and would try and mount the shell on the rotisserie. extremely satisfied with todays work

the beat series 1 vented bonnet on my deuce. intend to replace it with a NOS series 2 non-vented bonnet but will see if it can be saved, after its striped of paint and is blasted

sieved with holes of all kinds, the pella boot - including a 4-6inches rust crack in the 2nd pic. luckily, rest of it all looks solid with surface rust only

the front headlight panel on the pella nose was the only 44yrs old that would have remained non-replaced once i had been done with the resto because everything else on the nose was going to be NOS. this front headlight panel is badly rusted at the ears and would crumble in hands if i had tried to twist it at the ears.

it was only fitting, i thought, that i would seek a NOS headlight front panel to replace this old rusted one and have been on the look out. it was only today a dutch friend came to rescue when he dawned at me that one of his hobby friend there in the netherlands had a NOS one to sell. it was priced pretty steep but it had to be bought anyway. so i told marcel to pick it up and send it to me whenever he heads to his friend. here is a pic of the NOS panel which is hopefully being collected this weekend

with this NOS headlight panel installed, pella would be as good as new when it left the assembly line back in 71/72. and nothing makes me more happier about it

the sorry state of affairs on pella's suspension - front shocks, would hopefully be replacing these with coilovers

rear shocks - have coils from some other car installed on them which were a pretty bad fit because everytime the car ran over a bump the springs used to jump out of the collar seats while i drove from the car carrier to home

ball joints - all shot, the extended arms would require new bushings too

tie rod ends, inner & outer - all gone

center link - will buff out though will need new bushings

the steering control arms - the left one would preferably need to be replaced and the other one on the right would require new bushings

complete steering links overview - except helper rod

it goes without saying that these would be de-rusted/blasted and would be coated with either POR15 or the likes to turn up all new once again before being put back on

continuing with the exterior details on the pella

rear license plate light there but would need a NOS replacement just like my luce as the condition on this one is bad with one mounting hole of the cover cracked

this bad boy here now can rest in my stash along with the old rear bumper, as have found a NOS replacement in greece to go with the NOS rear bumper. this will arrive in couple of weeks
