Suggestion...

Fabulous suggestion. This, though, appears to be a 1970-73 Camaro, with the split bumper arrangement, and a different nose. The colour is beautiful. But it isn't the one we're going to use. That's a surprise for later!

The wheels are fantastic looking, as well. Here, you'll be pleased to hear that the wheels going onto the Camaro are going to be even better than the ones in the picture, God willing. We've managed to track down some six lug wheels in exactly the right PCD in 16 inches. The front wheels are slightly more deep-dished than the ones shown in this picture, and the rear ones are MASSIVELY deep-dished...which will make for a stunning stance, hopefully. Let me post some pictures of the wheels...

We'd already changed the hubs, so finding rims that exactly fit the pattern was just icing on the cake. These aren't "SUV-specific rims" per se. They're by a company called Weld (parent company of American Racing), and are reversible. Unscrew the bolts of the face plate, flip it over, and you have instant deep-dish rims. Pretty neat, huh?

Faraz, I have a few spare 225/55/16 Yokohama Advan tires lying around. New ones will go up front. For the rear, I'm thinking something old school. Mickey Thompson drag slicks, perhaps. Or Nitto street slicks. Or Cooper Cobras. Or Goodyear Eagles.

this looks a Z28 or a 'SS' that has been desecrated. I doubt the rear is original too. subscribed to this thread and good luck for the restoration.

Well spotted. The origins of the car were certainly murky, for a while, since we'd never really gotten into correctly identifying it. After tracking the VIN though, I'm happy to report that this baby IS a Z28, indeed. This has been confirmed by a couple of tell tale features that are still present (duct along the inner side of the right fender) under all the 'desecration' that has taken place. All the more reason to slap an SS or Z28 badge onto it, once we're done building it.

I second that, a very very good idea, it would look just awesome with some Mickey Ts or an equally exotic rear tire combo. Now please stop hiding the latest progress photographs.

I was able to get some assistance on the wheels from a fellow enthusiast and friend in Karachi, brother. This set (of 5 wheels) has cost upwards of 60K.
