Here in Pakistan, we have to use some sort of glass paper and compound after applying the paint. Is there some special type of paint available? its shine is amazing.. even in the engine bay..

I am sorry for not updating this thread because for past week I was chasing a 73 MarkII Station Wagon with perfect black interior. Spoke to the owner and made the deposit on the car, took a flight to go pick up the car and when I get there freak had sold the car under me to someone local so I was kind of bummed out about that. Well not much has been done to the car as the main mechanic (Ustaad) has a swine flu and others (chotas) can’t touch the car without supervision from Ustaad.

As far as paint goes it is Dupont paint which I am told suppose to be very high quality

but who knows what they used for all I know they probably used the cheapest paint available to them. There is some orange peel to it but hardly noticeable. I know they are doing to compound the car to get more shine out of it

Oh!! hard luck! Really bad! 73' Mark2's estate car is pretty rare. How much he was asking ( if u want to share)

regarding the paint, i also used DuPont paint, The shopkeeper had very good setup, i just told him the color code and he developed it using an apparatus provided by Dupont (a PC and some sort of me digital scale) but again when the painter sprayed the car it looked like pretty rough. He then used very fine glass paper on the whole car, and it started looking like Matt finished. after it he used compound to bring back the shine. i wonder what is the difference with the paints? forgot to mention he sprayed hardener/ lacor (don't know the exact spelling) after applying the paint.

Here is the one that got away with perfect OEM dash and seats.Would have cost me almost $2000 by the time I got it home which isn’t bad at all for a car in good running condition.

Did your painter clear coat it?

This is the exactly same interior that i have in my Mark2...

$2000 was not bad at all for this car. i personally like the white and brown interior (the one you have in your Rust color MK2 coupe). i'd have paid this much amount too for a car in this condition.

Yup, the painter did the clear coat, here it is called as hardener i think. but the shine isn't up to my expectation or the one on your car.

Post up pictures of your MarkII if you can please.

I looked at a 2JZ NA VVTI today came out of 2000 IS300 with 30k miles on the clock for $800.

including ecu/harness and tranny.

I want it for my Celica Liftback but here we have to get smog check for anything after 1975

to be registered for use on public roads and freeways. My Liftback is 1976.

Is this the engine you found?

215hp on stock is quite powerful.

$800 is not bad at all for such a low mileage and complete engine, at least if we compare it in Pak rupees and the value of engine in Pakistan.

Spotted these mark2s on different occasions.

Saw in Lahore for sale, was asking Rs.60000.

In Peshwar, was generally in good condition.

I was wondering how thing is still moving. was in such a bad condition.

I like it very much, love those BMW headlights too, I have the same setup for mine.

Are you going to swap out the rims or you running em OEM? And what are those side mirrors off of?

I think the guy with blue MarkII is dreaming about getting 60k for it.

Silver looks nice but orange one had seen better days.

I think an old Crown would love to have a 2JZ in it.

What kinda swap are you running in your car? and is the interior all original?

i am having 3C turbo in it. will swap it with some adequate petrol engine. although 3C is a good engine but i don't like the noise and vibration of it.

The interior is not exactly original. The seats are original but having new fixed covers but with same material and designs. dash is all original. i will upload some pics of interior too. you know i am setting this car for the last 10 years, its like my hobby. This car was in pretty bad condition, when it came in my hands. although this is with for the last 28 years.

Rims are of OEM. i am looking for some good classic rims, suitable to the shape of the car.

Side mirrors are local or chine made.

Ansarghani,

I had something older in mind for a Crown. Saw one when I was in Pakistan this past summer.

I have many interior parts I have collected over the years from MarkII sedans at local junk yards. I just sold my only pair of fenders/doors and a hood from a coupe to someone in Germany who has been asking to be please let him save his coupe. Kinda sad about it but I know it helped someone in great need. How hard is it to track down weather strips for windshields both front and rare?

i went to mardan in 2006 searching for rear lights and bumpers for my Mark2. I found literally new rear lights, 73' grill, complete interior (dash, seats, door panels, except central console), doors, '78 bumper. i was amused how these parts are soo clean and in excellent condition. There were other parts also available. like i bought genuine window glass. i missed those rear lights due to difference of model and shape, one is convex (1974-1978) and the other is concave (1972-73)

May be one can find those weather strips there. but finding rear one for coupe is near to impossible. what other interior do you have? i am looking for glove box.

Can you guess the price of my BMW projection lights? These are made by Bosch (Germany), with original frame.

i am surprised to see that the gap between the lights are exactly the same as of BMW, i simple created some room for the projection lights and fitted it with its frame.
