A very nice sample of a KE70 British model! In the photos posted the paint appears to be in quite good condition. Any reason for getting the car repainted?

European model Toyotas generally came with good quality paint and rust protection. So even though 30 years have passed but I am sure that local paint and application technique would not yield a better paint job. Wash and wax would have worked fine on the original paint.

Totally agree with what you are trying to say brother but there was a couple off places example bottom half off drivers door where instead off repairing a dent the previous owner had got it filled with filler (poteen) and had it painted over and to top it off not using the right colour code.

So after a long think I decided to have it painted using original paint code TOYOTA 125 SILVER which I bought from the United Kingdom and going to keep it factory spec as possible inshallah

I never understood the term 'London model'. Maybe somewhere here can better explain how it came to be and why it is not heard of anywhere else.

its not an official name for any model, its kind of desi name for cars imported from London,

The car still has all the interior to get fitted also the fuel tank, dashboard etc so hopefully it should sort the height issue and bring it down.

I want to do the same with my Charade, can you please tell me how much did it cost? I mean total cost of denting + painting, electrical/wiring, interior work + dashboard repair etc? Did you get the new bumpers as well?

And where do you live? I mean the car can't be in Bradford

Rs35,000 paint material and labour
I had the bumpers covered in faux leather they were originally chrome rs 2000
Wiring etc cost around rs10,000

Total rebuild cost around rs 77,000

And I live in the UK and do these projects when I visit just come back to the UK :S

5 speed Gearbox is straight fitment for the 4k engine and transmission is available in Rawalpindi in sha sultan around rs8000 to rs12000
