1G & 3S consumption

Xulfiqar bhai I am convinced that 1G is a lot more smoother then 3S.. a number of other gurus have suggested/preferred 1G on other forums too. I had a bit of reservation regarding the consumption..
I think i better go for 1G.. lets see how it perform...

Can you tell me what is the difference between VVTi and normal 1Gs? VVti introduced after 1998 (in 1G), any visible part attached with the engine to make sure that the engine is VVTi variant?

the old 1g is wid the distributor and the vvti one has the 'vtec' as called by my mechanic rest is identical the older 1g has lesser bhp ...vvti has more bhp and very smooth on idle as well.... vvti is visable near the oil cap on the engine front....bro im not boasting but my 1g is giving me 20km/liter....2 gud 2 be true but i can assure u m nt a kid n im nt lying.....mine is a virgin piece hard 2 find....even had the red coolant when first opened.....even the sparkplugs havent been changed ...took it out ov a lexus is200 half cut...

Dear there are various option in 3S Engines, i dont know which version of 3S you are comparing with 1G. Moreover there are two version of 1G engine available in market one is with VVTi and other non-VVTi. The VVTi version provides 160 Hp whereas non VVTi version peaks around 135-140 HP.

but sourcing the original 1g transmission is very imp...here in isb and pindi they sell 2l/3l gearbox mated with 1g transmission housing

hmmm i didn't know that.. any specific model mentioned/written on the housing to make sure its original??

I am looking for FE variant as they are meant for fuel economy. not sure about VVTi and non VVTi variants.
which engine you have selected? have you installed CNG?

Thank u 4 saying masha Allah..i wasnt going to tell the mileage as its too gud n didnt want 2 get unwanted critisim n buri nazar... honestly if it did 10-12km per liter i wudnt b able 2 afford it n wudnt wanna ruin it on cng....engine cost 75k encluding exchange of 2l engine... i dnt knw ny sure marking as the kabariz r very cleaver they tell u 2 see the housing n that looks untouched n even the 2l gear looks nice.... 4 low end pick its nice but for smooth top speed driving its a pain in the ***.....usually 1gfe come wid auto tranny so i suggest buy auto... ive driven a 2004 mk2 wid 1gfe wid auto tranny n belive me it aint tht bad

I used 3S FE, with rear wheel drive. this engine came with rear wheel drive in lite ace noah only. Whereas with front wheel drive this engine came in camry, rav 4, celica, corona and supra.
It is a very good engine with better torque characteristics. Its much more cheaper than 1G FE. if your involved in racing then i will suggest you 3S GTE. 3S FE will give you an average of 13 to 14 km/litre on highway

just shifted my bravo light truck with 3S-FE with 2C's tranny....i have to pick loads some times.

how ever its a breeze on m way till 150KM/H and i think its more than enough for a light truck....

giving me an average of 13KM/Liter on M-Way ...and 5 RS/Km on cng, 5.8 RS/KM with Ac and a load of 800 KG's in the back...trying to bring it further down

only issue with all efi's is that if u can find a good engine and complete wiring harness....else the kabaris just make sure that u keep on spending the money and money and money ....

find a good mechanic who can deal with kabari's

now a days kabari's dont have any "Zuban"......

I am only considering rear wheel engines... do not want to go for Qasai work
This is my daily drive car, want maximum fuel efficiency.. no racing..
Here in Peshawar i did a brisk reccy a couple of weeks back, found that 3S and 1G are more or less of same price... 1G is a bit cheap due to its less demand. every other pickup/van driver is looking for RWD 3S, which has caused a considerable increase in its price..

Have you installed it in your Mazda Pickup?
I know these kabari's can ruin ones money easily...

well 1G-FE isnt a bad option either but truthfully speaking 3SFE is more popular and parts are more readily available ...due to higher utilization, there are pretty good chances to find a good engine along with complete harness...in efi system dont compromise on wiring harness ....keep the same wrt fuel pump....in price both are almost the same...which tranny u r using at da moment ???? one more important point is that our mechanics are more familiar and easy with 3S-FE as compared to 1G-FE...

sct ur engine by
1. price (Both are same)
2. try to find an engine with all things complete...
3. check ur current tranny ....
4. check ur current engine mounts AKA tangni (in mechanics terms)
5. buy one engine which sits u the most

what ever engine u select make sure all swap is done infront of ur eyes....good luck bro....
