So, I've decided to drop by my Maruti-Suzuki dealer and pay up the 11,000 rupee deposit for the new Swift but and this is a big BUT, two all new cars to debut at the Delhi Auto Expo have me keeping a keen eye on to see what they actually look like before i sign away my money on the new Swift, It really is confusing when you have choice, sometimes.

The all new Santro does look promising in side view and will be 2lac cheaper than the Swift in top trim, i hear

Again, i'm confused but in the end i'll go with the city car that meets my needs. So, God help me choose wisely.

Old Swift vs New Swift. and, midnight blue metallic is bang-on , i think. My dealer tells me there's an approximate 50,000 increase in price over the old swift so i'm looking at approx 7.5lacs for a Zxi model.

So, the Ford Freestyle mild crossover has been unveiled in india today, the all new Swift has been unveiled a week back and the all new Santro is the only car left to unveil before i pick one of these three cars as my next city car.

I succumbed and booked my new Swift at my Maruti dealer today. I paid a 11,000 rupee deposit and i got a booking number by text message. Now all i got to do is wait for the car and pay up for it and drive it home. My search for a new city car to replace my WagonR Stingray after 4 1/2 years of good service is now over. Much as i decry Suzuki's strangehold on the south asian car scene i'm equally guilty of propogating the same, i guess. I blame Hyundai for delaying the new Santro launch to the 3rd quarter of this year and VW for delaying the all new Polo launch to early 2019 for this.

Suzuki sold 1.6 million plus cars in India last year and manufactured 1.72 million cars locally. Well...

Thanks. The Swift is priced lower than the Ford Freestyle so that did it for me.I have a choice of white or midnight blue color which i wil decide on a coin toss later.
