Well "Fast" and "Quick" are pretty subjective. A 10 sec or even a 9 sec(pushing it a bit even for a manual 1.5 city) 0-100 time isn't really all that impressive. Cars have been doing these 0-100 times for almost 30 years now. These cars are economy focused cars first and foremost. A performance car should at least be capable of a 6-7 second 0-100, this means having at least 180 whp, and a competent LSD if it is FWD.

CVTs in general are pretty bad transmissions. The only thing they do better than conventional autos is fuel economy. Rest, they are laggy, cut engine power, and are pretty fragile and thus not as reliable. I was actually seeing a video where a person took two Civics 1.5T(s) for a top-speed run. One was manual and one was the CVT spec that is offered in Pakistan. Both had the same 174 hp. The manual was able to do a top-speed in access of 230 km/h while the CVT couldn't even touch 210 km/h.

1.5 manual variant will be the slowest selling variant of new(er) gen City in Pakistan.

Every Honda City fanboy will quote performance figures of Honda City 1.5 manual variant in any debate / argument, and then purchase 1.2 CVT variant himself

1.5 manual does not exist for base model. Only cvt. Aspire has both manual and cvt. Theres pretty much no interest for aspire 1.5 manual, so you wont see anyone mentioning it, not even honda salesmen. I really think honda should have given 1.5 base manual.

I blv this to be an incorrect explanation of "rubber band effect" and CVT belt in general. Rubber band effect has nothing to do with stretching of CVT belt.

CVT belt length (circumference) stays the same whatever the "gear" or pulleys sizes.

If the CVT belt starts to stretch, it means the CVT is about to fail.

CVT belt in cars is made of steel and not some rubber based material. CVT belt of scooters is made of a rubber origin material like that of FEAD belts of a car.

It's the worst when you are slowing down at a red light and it turns green so you press the throttle to accelerate again. Literally jerks

Putting a penalty on anyone willing to sell his asset is basically againt basic human rights, but to curtail own mafia, there should be a limit to number of cars a person can sell in a year,

i have information that one of the prominent honda showrooms in Islamabad has booked two or three City's on the name of each of their employee... more booked by the dealer than public, these would be later sold on a high premium... basically, such unethical practices need to be curtailed
