According to source in Honda, sales of City have decreased to almost zero, lowest number of cars booked ever since its inception in 1998.
Decision makers are not buying the argument of decline in sales due to Covid and are pressing the sales and production team to work hard towards launch of City's next generation to consolidate there share in market.
Two market indicators were brought on table, to trash the covid excuse, one resonable booking of there own flagship Civic X and second the newly launched competitor by Indus motors which reportedly is exceeding the sales target by about fourty percent. Owing to the success of the new car in subcompact sedan segment, Indus motors might discontinue its 1.6 variant of there flagship sedan.
This has raised an eyebrow, Atlas group may no longer be interested in carrying on with the obsolete car.
Market analyst believe that the competitor car by Indus motors has managed to capture huge share in market, due to incapacitated rival being offered by Atlas motors despite being a new entrant, lack of safety features and innovation.
It is expected that in the last quarter of 2020, Atlas may come up with the newer generation of Honda City. Pricing and features are expected to give a tough time to the rival brands already present in the market while targeting the other companies who might launched or may launch cars in sub compact sedan segment soon after...
