I have just come to know that car dealerships are wholesalers and everyone buys from them can sell their product unregistered Legally at a man chaha profit without paying a penny to government on that profit.

It's simple business.

People get emotional over it, but they'll never sell a plot, house, or even an iPhone at the purchase price.

It's not a simple business. This is looting people. It would have been a simple business if so called investors didn't affect the supply of vehicles for genuine buyers.

But the way it is being done, this is hoarding. They book through shady means, their cars are delivered first, showrooms and dealerships create artificial shortages for them to force people to pay their own money. This is market manipulation, this is extortion, this is hoarding, this is crime, not business. Please don't defend it.

See some people here in this thread claiming that only own mafia looters got delivery of City in August/September. One person mentioned that his pay order was delayed by 5 days by the dealership. This isn't ethical practice is it?

This is why I am so vocal against it, and I try my best to convince anyone around me to not pay own. This is what we all should do. Accept delayed delivery for the time being, but once looters business is gone, vehicles will be delivered in time.

At least we should try to drive them out of cars below 3 million. This will benefit a us in the long term.

And I agree with you, government should bring JDMs back. I strongly believe that JDMs are directly responsible for forcing manufacturers here to offer better features in their cars. I mean if there was no JDM Mira/Alto/Move here, PKDM Alto VXL would just have a hard steering, manual gearbox, drum breaks, phatta seats. Forget AGS, ABS, power windows, powered side-view mirrors and infotainment display, ye sab to civic/corolla me bhi nai hona tha.

Genuine buyer is told there is shortage, genuine buyer's order is delayed, it is refused even at some dealerships telling no quota or something else. It would have been fair business if genuine buyer's order went into the same queue in the order of booking, and order of delivery is not manipulated.

Absolutely true. If every one of us can dissuade one person from own, it'll dent these looters business enough. Let their cars rot in the hidden garages like XLis and GLIs are, I have heard Elantra is now selling at below invoice price. This issue needs to be fixed by us customers.

I guess I clearly explained this global thing with coke tin and if you are aware cars do sell on premium even in US also few of those sell at discounts as I have already said in this thread that I bought Corolla Gli on 70,000 discount so it goes both ways. It's just more on premium side because of nature of our Auto industry.

Genuine buyer is not dissuaded by false information of artificial shortage globally. Cars maybe sold on premium in the US, but genuine buyers' cars are not artificially delayed.

Ye fair business hota agar genuine buyer aur luteray ki booking aik hi time pe deliver hoti. You cannot justify it by flauting hooooooooooo USA me bhi hota hai. And I am sure in developed countries, a genuine buyer is not at a disadvantage by not paying permium. At least call a spade a spade. Have the courage to do that at least.

You may have booked your car like a genuine buyer, and not through shady means to get yours delivered before genuine buyers, and that does put you at a higher moral ground, but given how dirty this practice is, you are still at a negative morality, just higher than looters who get accelerated delivery through unfair means.

The delayed delivery and premium/on situation has twice forced me to go for a used vehicle in almost the same price as new as such a long wait was not possible due to the second car requirement at my house. So yes, I also won't support this as an ethical business option.

If you see Yaris is selling in good number but still available quicker than any other car out there why is that? Because assembler is assembling it in more numbers to make a hit. Also I have bought a car on own back in 2007 but haven't ever sold it on own ever also I was able to buy 2 brand new cars at different times on a price lesser than invoice one was Gli in end of 2019 and other was new shape Cultus back in 2018. So ultimately it's buyer who wait for a car to get hit to buy it as safe investment so ultimately buyer has to wait or pay own if buyer has urgency of buying.

No. Its a gain due to appreciation in value.

No, the buyer is forced to pay own. The buyer is given outrageous delivery date because some looter hoarder has booked 400 vehicles. And in addition to that, the buyer is falsely told that the quota has run out, or vehicle is not being assembled due to shortage of parts, or some other lie. Or his booking payment is either refused or delayed. The circumstances to force buyers to pay own, specially those who need the vehicle delivered in time, are created by this looter own mafia. And worst, we have seen incidents where a genuine buyers' ready for delivery vehicle is sold on own to someone else.

This is forcibly creating a need and inserting an additional party into the supply chain forcibly.

Used vehicles sell at crazy prices due to this looter own mafia. A genuine buyer has 3 options: either buy Corolla for 39,99,000 and wait for 6 months, or buy 2018/2019 potentially meter reversed run on 20W50 oil for 41-43,00,000, or buy new through shady means for 45,00,000. All 3 of them force a buyer to pay more than the listed price of the car, or wait 3-6 months.

And then we have people who are defending this.

You are mixing different things here my dear.
If there is no invester in the line then the real buyer would never have to wait this long, its as simple as that.

Its the market price of a two year old GLI that determines that you can sell it at high price than 2019 invoice. That GLI price is not artificially manipulated, its simple economics.
One should not try to manipulate facts by mixing them with other scenarios.

Ok let me clarify one thing for everyones knowledge.

On/premium is encouraged by the assemblers themselves. They intentionally create the supply and demand gap to increase ON in the market. You think these dealerships make their own bookings without knowledge of the assembler? NO.
The assembler, the dealer and the investor. All are hand in glove in this practise.

Yaris is readily available because the assembler wants it to take as much market before city becomes available in the market.

Is taking ON/premium an unethical way of earning a profit? Yes.
Can the investor like our fellow pakwheeler be blamed only? NO.

But as they say.....be the change you want to see in the world.

Tbh, it depends on the structure of the organization. Honda does not own the dealerships, hence the idea of sharing ON money is there but unlikely. What the organization CAN do is change the booking process. If you think about it, investors buying cars is extremely damaging to Honda themselves.

I mean im just shocked to see people still defending own mafia, I was also waiting for 6th gen but when i got to know aspire 1.5 cvt delivery is either sept, oct or nov or december jan in some cases, i went ahead and bought another used 9th gen civic. Both sides are to blame, why can a purchaser simply not wait. why not buy something that is not on own.

Right now a buyer with approx 3million has few choices.

Book a City and be uncertain of the car that he will get, when he will get it.

Book a Yaris (Ugly and raised whatever complaints he might have) have it delivered in 45 days

Buy Car on own money

Just tell me why can a genuine buyer simply not wait. This is the biggest problem with our Nation. We are restless and impatient. Having a City in 2021 is not a matter of life and death, you can always have it an year later.

The only thing is that it will be atleast 100k more expensive than it is Today. and to save that investors play in and make more than double out of it. If we can be patient things will resolve.

Rest people also like to brag and boast and that is the class of people that have helped and facilitated the own business the most.

For people who are saying facilitating the own business is like having property, it is nothing of this sort. Property does not come in hoarding.

There is a proper system of Zakaat and shariah that applies to it.

To both above comments. It is not as if you are selling your old car for x amount and buying a new car with own for the same amount. It is always a differential.

Put that differential as down payment and when the car is almost due sell your car recover the balance and get a new one.

If it is urgent that will be 5% of the case rest 95% I have seen are not patient enough

I dont know why this post was flagged, It is a genuine concern for the City Buyer who has a vague idea of what he is getting, an even vaguer idea of the price he is going to pay and no idea of what the own will be once the deliveries start.

The best advise i can give is if you really need to get a car and you are desperate for a ride you will either compromise in what you want or the own, (Sad Reality). An alternate is by booking your car you save not only on the own but can also claim the wht in tax return plus the wht on the registration. for the stop gap chose an alternate vehicle and keep it for 6 to 8 months (gt to enjoy 02 brand new cars)

Everyone in pak has a justification for their haram earnings. I can't say whether this own selling is haram, but it is still highly unethical.

The dealers are in on the shorting as they get commissions on own. Recently when I was questioning a salesperson from honda point regarding late delivery, he told me to find a source in honda. Then went on if I'm interested to sell on own, he can get me a 1.2 in August. That was literally 2 weeks after the bookings had already started.

Unfortunately it is a global phenomenon, but mostly for supercars. It's still unethical, but at least those cars aren't a necessity. In India I heard how city gets delivered straight from factory after like 3 to 4 months unless if paying premium. But at least the premium is much lower than ours (around 50k).

Unfortunately our locals are insanely impatient. Idk why anyone would buy on own unless they literally don't own any car and have an urgent need for it. Unfortunately buying on premium still makes more sense than buying a used and abused POS which has appreciated in price over the years somehow.
