Nahi bro City is a legendary car. If you think any other car can take City's sales tou Soch hay aapki. City is unbeatable
City 10 saal say zyaada 5th Gen chali tou yeh Atlas ki marzi, or ab woh change Kar rahey hain ye bhi unki marzi. Iss mein competition Ka koi Amal dakhal nahi. You can never say City was compelled to launch 6th Gen.

Honda City no doubt is a much better package (Top Variant). Had I not had back issues, I would have opted for CITY hands-down.

For me ride comfort is critical. But if I go with my heart I would always go for CITY. Only if they could make the suspension a bit softer.

I was so excited about the new CITY, thinking that 7th Gen is coming (Has softer suspension setup than 6th Gen as per Indian reviewers & it looks stunning IMHO) but ATLAS is launching 6th gen.

Bhai this was just to Poke my darling brother Zohaib, ofcourse city has been reliable...

as for Atlas being reliable, i owned a civic base variant in 2016/17, had a bad suspension... niether was it comfortable nor refined... i have been told that 2019 onwards its improved but i can't trust them again... it even had electrical faliures, i think even liana owners were not disappointed as much as people who bought civic in 2016/17

Bhai there are three or four options in Alto price category... starts with Bravo, Prince Pearl, United Alpha... even wagon R base variant costs almost equal to alto vxl but again i prove my point... reliability, affordability and pricing... people drop cheaper bigger cars i.e. bravo & pearl and a bigger car wagon r vxr to buy alto although it is ugly but better specification wise... if city carries better features and is priced very similar to yaris it will compete werna flop... no one will buy an expensive city, city means economic car.. mehngi city won't do... shape is just an excuse... no one cares how a machine looks... yaris is now a trending shape, who knows atlas also launches an XBumper for city..

City is Atlas's Mehran, best selling because it is a reasonable car that is priced lesser than competitors.

Till the time when there were only two broad categories, diggi wali and hatch back things were different, now times have changed.... sedan has to compete with high end hatchbacks and low end SUVs... with low cost SUVs around, Atlas has to rightly price werna curtains...

by March 22 City 6th Generation may be handed over to customers, Yaris would have completed two years, ideally they might launch or announce a facelift... MG may walkin with few options... unlike Alsvin, MG may prove to be a competition for yaris and city alike because MGs are better finished and refined... inshort city with an obsolete generation won't be a very attractive option for buyers

6th gen city was still the best selling sedan in india and totally wiped out yaris (current gen). Now verna is best selling sedan there because its damn cool and adds to the fun with diesel automatic. Yaris just doesnt cut it in the segment where city is present , city is not only more spacious but infact has a fun engine to drive and looks absolutely hideous. Yaris was selling well only because of lack of competition or why mehran was selling :D.

I dont understand why is Indian Market being taken as an example over here. Totally different market dynamics, totally different customer preferences, totally different market penetration of the same brands in the two countries.
Not at all necessary whats successful in India would be a hit here as well and vice versa. Civic is the biggest example.

A fan boy of yaris is as stupid as a fan boy of city.

Honda City will sell in the targetted niche urban market of Pakistan. If there arnt any quality issues or reliability concerns, your urban user wont move towards Yaris. Rural areas, government quota vehicles will be dominated by Toyota Yaris.
Corporate/white collared job holders will obviously look towards Honda City first. And if the price doesnt suit them, will shift to yaris.

Looks are subjective.....looks are subjective.....looks are subjective.

There is a handful of population who buy the car for the looks. Remainder look for features and reliability.

I request all to end this yaris city debate. Or the unnecessary debate of whats working in India and expecting the same result in Pakistan.

Coming to the topic: one last teaser of sun roof should come. I think it will be a very big deal breaker and will most definately make honda city a worthy buy

If Honda Atlas gives Sun Roof and ESC, HA, TC then I would be willing to say Yaris is not worth it and City is the king. But I am afraid that's not going to happen.

Looks are only as subjective as your opinion about the looks being subject. Anyone with an ounce of aesthetic sense will reach the conclusion ' bro , thats one hideous car' and its a usual opinion almost in every forum and review on internet and i like yaris as a machine but toyota could have done better with the exterior design, I am not a city fan by the way , i would buy alsvin if i had to buy in that segment( despite it being inferior machine than both city and yaris). People are not usually as informed about cars safely features as we are here on pakwheels , though they should be. 80 percent of them dont know or care about TC , VSC and HSA (though they should). Thankfully we have almost current yaris generation here but it too is almost as ancient as 6th gen city facelift., and that too was a facelift of 2013 model.

No it means even without that it will sell more and majority of the people who bought yaris didnt know that yaris had these features. It would have sold without these features , these features are not the deciding factors lf our market. Yaris is a good machine but as bland as it comes , nothing exciting about it. An effiecient boring engine vs a city's mid range to high range king engine (wrt the segment ofcourse).

Thats about the car but it doesnt mean i am actually advocating honda atlas , if city doesnt sell well(highly unlikely) then it will be down to late delivery times and poor customer services. Otherwise there is no stopping the city.

The logic here is wrong my friend. We are deciding what is ACTUALLY good or not good. We want to base our opinions on facts rather than "People don't know it so it does not matter"

True.. Civic X had a lot of ironing to do... sadly Atlas ran the experiment on early adopters rather than doing it before product launch... If I am not mistaken it was only 2018 onwards that they started churning out a decent quality product.

I love the shape of Civic X but sadly can't get one... once I sat inside a colleagues car and both getting in and out was a pain in the $%$-... I guess I am now too old for bucket type seats

I second the performance part..

I own a Yaris ATIV X 1.5 CVT and the drive though extremely comfortable yet when it comes to overall pleasure of driving (excluding comfort) it's just ok..."Bland efficient machine" is an apt description.

Its a brand new car... when I am driving it... it feels like I am still sitting in my living room sofa... very soft suspension....Comparing to a much older 5th gen Aspire 1.5 - which I kept for a week for testing (my father in laws car) sadly I developed severe back pain and found it too uncomfortable to drive .. yet it was very responsive and had good handling though I found it unstable at 120-130 kmph on Motorway...May be with broader tyres it would perform better. That car had stock tyres.

So for me Yaris is the only option (in this price bracket) as I simply can't drive a CITY due to my particular circumstances... but if driving pleasure is concerned CITY is way ahead. Almost all the Internet reviewer are of the same view. Sorry for keeping out Alsvin... till they prove their worth.. I for one would stay away..

So if Comfort is your thing... in this price bracket either you can go for a used Corolla or a brand new Yaris (I can't bear the hassle of used cars so went ahead with Yaris)

If you have no issues with a harder suspension and want a fun to drive car then CITY is a no brainer. (PS. Referring to 1.5 variant only)

Yaris is not for eye candy. It replaced "rolla" of the rural areas!

Remember XLI and GLI being used for transporting cow feed, crops, bricks, cement bags etc etc in our rural areas.

City is definately going to be better looking than yaris..

bus Actual product launch kartay unki jaan nikal rahi hai... May be they are trying to get even more bookings... Sood kha kha pait nahin barah abhi tak ATLAS ka...

I'm losing hope whether their even going to reveal the price & specs this month.
