Comparing yaris india to city india is incorrect, the top spec yaris in india is 50 percent more expensive than top spec 6th gen city. The 7th gen city in india is price matched with Yaris. Toyota has other issues in india relating to taxes and BS6 and they might even walk out of the market, there are markets where yaris trumps city and others where city trumps yaris, but that is a pound for pound match, honda did replace its generation which yaris/vios 4th gen is still not in sight.
some of you might have seen my pro honda posts over the years but even I fail to understand how can someone keep saying that honda 6th gen is better than yaris and it being priced a little over yaris is fine in the same sentence. The yaris being sold in Pakistan is not an outdated model, it IS the current model and rivals city 7th gen, NOT 6th gen.
First a lot of learned people make an excuse that honda has to do some voodoo in their assembly line to bring 7th gen and it would be very expensive thats y 6th gen is justifiable. ITS NOT. the cost of new gen is borne by the factory which develops the car, every one else has to replicate the process but we have been made to belive otherwise, when indus introduced yaris last year a totaly new platform and size for them, they were able to price it below 3mil, why cant honda pak do that with the 7th gen, it is priced to match yaris worldwide and should be the same here. They are just giving us a lollypop which they pulled out of their a** and wrapped it up in an invisible paper.
Honda Atlas deserves every rant and shit coming their way because they effed up. 6th gen is a good car there is no doubt, but we should call a spade for what it is, and its a model which was due 5 years ago and it being priced to match or over yaris is the same thing the chinks are doing to us.
All that said, as I am looking for a car in 3 mil range, i will be booking the city once I see it, but I will not defend my purchase infact I will be giving them wadi wadi galiyan.
