Obviously 1zrfe has better high end torque than l15 given former is 1.6 liter engine. Its just that l15 can rev better to produce almost same peak HP without incurring much losses in the engine, even with SOHC. Also, toyota`s engine has to drag a heavier load compared to engine in city. SImple maths tells me city 1.5 has a better power to weight ratio

That is because of the difference in bore and stroke of these engines. The higher the bore, torque would shift forward on Tachometer. These engines normally have higher Max RPMs and produce more power but at the cost of fuel average!
Secondly, with CVT transmission a difference of 400rpm would not feel a thing. All it would take is pressing the accelerator pedal slightly more!

Thanks, that was my point, both engines are not the exactly "Same". Rest power to weight ratio, that's a separate story of-course city with lighter body and 1.5 engine will be agile and quicker with better power to weight ratio. With same engine BRV struggle for breath when fully loaded.

My prediction would be 30.5 for Aspire CVT. One benefit for Grace users would be increased parts availability and their prices getting cheaper as well as for City users who can fit Grace parts such as LED headlamps and tail-lamps, lip-spoiler while wheels seem to be looking good unless it's raised like hell in the case of Yasir Atif.
