Today i asked Honda lyallpur motors if they are taking bookings for city 1.5 basic and aspire they said that bookings for 1.5 base model is closed both manual and prosmatec but for aspire 1.5 is still open both MT and prosmatec

So, unconfirmed news as always but my source directly / indirectly related to Atlas convinced me that it is a GM6/ 6th generation and reveal is August 2021.

It wasn't a drama. It was exactly as @fazalwahab11375 mentioned. One portion of the decision/ policy makers were against the 7th Gen and they probably won. However, still lot of time to go. You never know what we are typing here tomorrow

On a separate note, 6th or 7th or 8th, Honda should be launching a new model rather then a face-lift with two shark fins this time

I also hope that after 11 years, Honda wont make us wait more and will launch the new city. My son will be eligible for driving license in future and i am confident that Honda will have launched the new city by then,.

Though my son is currently 2.5 years old...

Well Atlas will still convince the consumer by saying the 6th is still sold in many countries and even in Indonesia which is followed by Honda Atlas. India is the largest single market for City and even in India both 7th and 6th generation are being sold at the same time.

So, Atlas will / can say.. we are offering the same product as offered in other markets although it would be one generation behind.

Unfortunately most of the public wants "NEW SHAPE" and for them from current Honda City to GM6 will suffice. Buyers happily buy current City in Pakistan even being older generation with multiple fake-lifts [ face-lifts ] and they will still buy the 6th / GM6 , no matter if it is already dead everywhere else.

That's what my point is, dudes at atlas should launch a new gen, be it 6th or 7th. Eyes bleed when seeing an 11 year old zero meter city in a showroom.

Too little, too late. If they waited 11 years, they should have brought the latest generation.

6th Generation will also sell of course, but it will not be the same buzz as what 7th Generation would have created.

Waiting for 7th generation launch because 6th generation will be outdated in international market very soon. However, honda will keep producing the car for at least one decade. So they should launch the latest car even if it takes more time to do the preparations.

Frankly, the 7th Gen Honda City (wider/ longer/ more fuel efficient/ Turbo Option and much better looking than the 6th Gen) MAY dent the sales of current gen Civic and the upcoming one. The 1.0L Turbo variant would surely kill the RS Turbo in Civic. That's my take.

well, track record of Turbo variant by Atlas Honda is not so much out standing. so a buyer may see a good thing in 1.0L Turbo is lesser taxes (of course turbo have more power but no one can say about knocking due to fuel and yes Turbo will be at least 5 lakh expensive than base version of 1.3L). However shape/specs of GM7 is far better than GM6. and if target launching date is Mid-later 2021, then Atlas Honda should go for GM7 so after few years, they do not feel a need to upgrade thier plant again and carry on GM7 for next 1 decade. However beside shape change, Atlas should work on Suspension improvment and Air Bags.
