for those who think city 1.3 was underpowered. It does 0-100 in 10.7 seconds, how much quicker one can expect 1.3 litre econo sedan to be?

First of all 10.7s is not some amazing number. Secondly 0-100 doesn't mean much for regular driving as the 1.3 feels completely gutless below 3k rpm.

Swift has the advantage that it reaches 100kmh in 2nd gear so only needs one shift, unlike the 2 required for city. City 1.3 is faster than the swift above 100kmh due to better aerodynamics of the city.

Also now that swift is being mentioned a lot on this thread, is there any chance of the new swift coming in local production any time soon? It is an amazing looking car, one of the best looking hatchbacks I have ever seen. Unfortunately the imported ones are unreasonably expensive.

As I said, how much faster could one expect 1.3 litre econo sedan to be? And below 3k it would obviously feel gutless due to SOHC vtec design (reason for its good fuel economy for 1.3 sedan). I think we should give the credit where it is due, city 1.3 was fastest 1.3 car of pakistan hands down

Yes. Expected this year. And that too recent model unlike city. I will consider switching my 2013 pdm to the new one.

Wait for reviews of people. Assumptions doesn't always lies to real world. There are more chances it is going to be fuel guzzler compared to 1.3.

I owned a swift myself and no way it was quicker than a city in top end. Also city had higher HP and better power to weight ratio compared to swift. I have already done all the comparisons and then reached this conclusion,

City 1.2? It will give good economy in the lower end and might be a guzzler above 120. Honda jazz 1.2 has almost same weight at 6th generation pkdm city and that (jazz) gives 16-17 kmpl (ARAI claimed)

N/A Small displacement can never better mileage then bigger displacement in low rpms. And honda which power lies all at the top rev range nope. This is the only the thinking of people here.

True any car older than 2014 is too old in 2021. When i bought Rebirth in 2019 almost everyone told me iski resale itni nahi hai corolla lelo but literally after 2 months it became hotcake although iska shape kafi boring hai but interior is just LIT

Well thats true but car do depreciate. Let me tell you. Civic Rebirth was launched at 22.5 and 24.5 lacs. But in 2017 when new shape launched 24.5 wali civic was selling for almost 18 lacs and non oriel was selling for 15 lacs. Cars do depreciate but when dollar when from 110 to 160. Same 18 lacs wali hogae 25 ki and 15 wali 20 ki hogae cause NEW CIVIC 24.50 se 40 ki hogae. Its basic economics. No one can control the market except for the market dynamics.

Rebirth, ciaz and 1.8 manual corollas used to be ignored in the used market and were an amazing buy back then. I remember seeing base model 9th gen manuals being sold for as low as 1.5m and fully loaded oriel a/t as low as 1.7m. Unfortunately seems like the ever increasing new car prices forced even undesirable cars to become desirable, and now there is not a single value for money used car in the market.

you got it opposite. N/A smallmdisplacement cars only give better mileage than bigger displacement engines in low rpms since their optimum band lies on the low end. Example is the new alto 660 vs new cultus/wagorn r etc. Alto thrives in mid to the low rpm range vs all the 1.0 litre cars because its engine makes less torque in mid lower rpms, lesser the torque = less fuel consumed (I dont know of anything other than fuel and oxygen mixture that makes torque in ICE). Now in the higher rpm, the volumetric efficiency of the small engines decrease and losses increase (thermal losses do to small surface area of the pison compared to pison in higher displacement engine) which is not the case in relatively bigger displacement engines (larger surface area of piston = low thermal losses on higher rpms and more torque produced). Weight also plays in part because lower the weight, lower the torque needed for traction

Yes thats true rebirth was one of the worst civic with boring shape but now being hot cake cause we dont have any other reasonable option. The used market got quite abdnormal. When i bought civic for 17 lacs ALTO was selling for 16.5 lacs on road price.
