Depends on your personal preference and budget. If you wanna go for 1.3/1.2 range, yaris is a no brainer, 1.2 city just sucks, unless you really need the improved rear legroom or really hate the yaris' looks. In that case if going for 1.2 cvt, I would really suggest you to upgrade to 1.5 base cvt as it is only slightly more expensive for a much better overall package. 1.3 yaris is also much cheaper, both the gli and ativ variants.
Things get a bit more complicated in the 1.5 range, city 1.5 is a better engine than the yaris 1.5. At 2.9m you have the base 1.5 and fully loaded yaris. You then have to really consider what matters to you, city has better engine, cruise control, roomier interior, retractable mirrors and better looks. Yaris has push start, better screen, smart entry, TC, VSC, hill start assist and alloy wheels. In that price range you have to choose which advantages matter to you more, to me personally the city 1.5 base cvt seems better and so I booked that.
Aspire is only for the money is no object, true honda fanboy type people. If you are looking to invest a lot of money to get the aspire features aftermarket in the base 1.5, better to go for aspire or seriously consider yaris cause its fully loaded already for much cheaper. But 1.6 corolla is a very good option to upgrade to in that price range.
So to summarize, if your budget is on the lower side, go for yaris hands down city is only a half-decent buy in the 1.5 variants. At 2.9m budget, seriously consider what features matter to you more. At higher budget buy aspire only if you really love the city and the extras that aspire comes with. If you want the most fun, sporty and enjoyable driving experience, you have to go for the aspire manual.
