not to defend the car or something. i've faced similar in many other cars at the start of drizzling. its mainly due to the fact that first drizzles cause the oils and grimes on the roads to float to the top which are obviously much more slippery than water itself.
but could just be this model too. it is really high. i think city has higher ground clearance tha Peugeot 2008
This is the exact reason for slipping. Slight rain after long time can make roads very dangerous. Yesterday a bus turned over on motorway and I think the reason is same. No tire or vehicle can help when the road is oily
Hope you and your car both are safe, what psi do you maintain? And did it over steer or under steer into the turn?
safe alhamdulillah. 33 psi we were 3 people and luggage in the car. over steered into turn
Well that's nice to hear, steps you can try is reducing psi to 30 and avoid abrupt steering on city as it doesn't have speed sensitivity. Also cc6's aren't known for wet grip. They are over rated IMHO, Yokoyama es32 ftw
Reducing tire pressure will worse the wet grip. High tire pressure prevent hydroplaning. It's not good idea to go below manufacturer's recommended pressure
https://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/24503/how-does-tire-pressure-affect-susceptility-to-hydroplane
A tire that is significantly under-inflated will allow the center of the tread to collapse and become very concave, trapping water rather than flowing it through the tread design.https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=3
The op had mentioned he kept his psi maintained @33 which is a higher than the company stated 32, so I suppose lowering it might yeild better grip because of the wider contact patch. Also yes true wet grip may be reduced
That's ok. It should not be under 32 psi. More tire pressure means less chance of hydroplaning.
expecting car to do 50k on odo by end of this year. considering Yoko GT AE51 or Michelin of some type for replacement.
I am using this tire in my City. I am in love with this tire.
Both are much better than cc6, you can't go wrong with either of them. Just ensure they are official import and have new manufacturing date
Btw what fuel average is your aspire returning?
15.5 on motorway loaded and 4 ppl
Hey guys, Does the FF touchscreen allow small tweeter speakers plug and play?
Some BC keyed my car outside Imtiaz Gulberg. It is insured, I dont know the procedure though. What should I do?
I am sorry for the damage you faced.Since your vehicle is insured, get the panel repainted.
Take pictures of the damage before repaint as a proof that it was not a major accident. It could be useful when selling the car in the future.
if the car is white or black, repair with a qalam, get it refined with slight sand paper and leave it the way it is....
for others, get it painted if its not too ugly....
Its not major, just a straight line of 6 inches in clearcoat on the hood. The car is in Silver and almost brand new. The insurance want to repaint the whole panel, should I do that?
Car is silver, I'll try to snap a picture at day end.
Someone did the same with my black car and i asked toyota dealership if they can fix it without repainting. I don't know what they applied but it is not visible unless someone looks very closely
