I have a friend who works for a European company who sells industrial chemicals and resins. They used to supply resins for the injection molding of Honda plastic parts before the Civic X.

Atlas revised their pricing and placed a price they could pay maximum for dashboard which resulted in supplier switched to cheaper product and a Chinese product.

The raw materials/ resins for plastics is extremely low and no wonder the final product is extremely low in finish.

Just compare the quality for older locally assembled Civics or Corolla and you will see how the fit and finish of dashboard and plastic parts went extremely questionable.

Heard couple of days ago that tentative launch Dec-Jan 2021/22. With all these conflicting news and deep silence from Honda, I highly doubt that new city coming anytime soon. They are just keep market warm with hope of up coming new city.
