It may also be avoided. Its almost twice as thick as 5w-30, or even 10w-30.
If 5w-30 had been poured in your car since day 01, then I would have suggested to continue with it and no need to change, however, now, you car has clocked almost ~76,000 Kms in 03 years, on that ridiculously thick oil.
If you switch to 5w-30 now, it might be possible that nothing happen, but however, if after some time, like months, engine oil consumption starts, you see smoke from the exhaust, etc. then who would take responsibility, for recommended, but wrong engine oil grade at this stage? I think none.
So, its better to play safe, and choose between 10w-30 or 10w-40, instead of 5w-30. Rest, your car, your money, your choices!
