e.g. 5w20 mineral will be similar to 5w20 synthetic in viscosity.

but you claimed that 0w20 and 20W50 will be same at operating temperature, which is impossible.

20w50 has a 100C viscosity of 19 cst.

by your rationale - we should be using some really thick lube for "better cooling"

Yes - I dont agree to nonsense. The reason I asked for supporting evidence was because your claim was against laws of physics.

It is pretty simple debate rule to ask for evidence when something doesnt add up.

law of physics says gravity pulls you to earth - you can challenge it and jump off a building.

similarly - thinner aka low viscosity liquids flow better and better/higher rate of flow nets better cooling - (its a bit similar to having a large reservoir of liquid which acts as a heat sink)

In our case the rate of oil moving in the bearing goes up with lower visc/thinner oil.

classic example is automatic transmission. in some vehicles manufacturers just increase the sump capacity to net better cooling as the total volume of the transmission oil increases.
