Salam to all of you,

I've been a silent observer of PW for too long so now I've decided that it's my turn to contribute something to this forum and maybe this post can be of some help to my travelling buddies.

So we were 5 friends sitting in the cafeteria of our college in Lahore and one of my friend says: "Yaar Naran Kaghan Chalain?" , we glanced at him and continued our discussion. None of us took it seriously except the friend who said that. We continued with our lives and then after some weeks he said it again and told us about the plan he prepared. The plan was convincing enough but none of us had been to that area and it was going to be our first trip with friends. Before that there were just some college trips, this was going to be our first trip with friends. We had to take permission from our homes, we had to go to other friend's houses and convinced their family to send their child with us. It was another adventure which I'll not be narrating.

So the big day was here, we packed our bags and reached the Bus Stand, we still couldn't believe that we were going to Naran Kaghan, that too on our own. We had booked our seats in the bus from Lahore to Mansehra. It was the night of 30th April 2014.

The condition of the bus was good and fare was around Rs.1,000 if I remember correctly.

The journey from Lahore to Mansehra was awesome. We had some food packed in our bags and were served snacks as well. We played cards whole night and hardly any of us slept during the journey.
We reached Mansehra around 6-7 AM and there we negotiated with the drivers as we were not looking to travel in public transport again and wanted to enjoy the views as well on our own discretion. We successfully negotiated with the driver of Bolan Dabba . The driver name was Yasir, I don't remember the exact amount but it was around Rs.3,000 from Mansehra to Naran.

The journey was going well. We saw a point and decided to stay a little bit. The point was beautiful along the River Kunhar. We had two packs of cans with us but they were not cool enough so we decided to cool them by placing them in the river. The water was cold as ice and we couldn't place our feet in it for more than 5 seconds. We stayed there for around half an hour and then continued our journey to Naran.

Made another stop for breakfast on the way. We went down near the river side to eat some mayonnaise and bread.

Then made another stop around 12-1 PM as the we were getting exhausted. The river flow was scary but the pics were equally good as well.

After that we made our final stop at Kaghan around 2 PM and had delicious Naan Chanay with Chaaye .
