The battery of my Zong 4G Mifi device has swollen and become like a gel tab, but still working. Replacing it tomorrow as can't risk it exploding.

That is why I recommend people, who are buying portable 4g routers, to get a wingle and a good quality powerbank if aesthetics aren't a concern. The price difference between can buy you a power bank that'll provide longer backup and it'd be multipurpose.

I think if the router is charged via USB ports, it would not hurt battery. Actually I had hooked it to Huawei phone charger and the charging stopped only during loadshedding and the continuous charging swelled it.

If it had been hooked to any usb port on tv, pc, it would have not been affected.

Went to Zong Blue Area, they sent me to Huawei customer service center next to MCB head office.

They were selling it for 1200 rs and no warranty. I will check k from market if it is cheaper there.

Thanks I didn't bought mifi device and bought wingle instead as I already had two power banks one of them is really small and perfect match for wingle

yes because wall chargers provide much higher amps than a 500-700mA usb port so battery gets charged quickly(not an issue) but trickle charging protocol(either software or circuitry) for fully charged / always plugged in devices must be in place that redirects power to run the device only till battery drops a certain threshold like present in laptops / smartphones. Huawei should acknowledge the issue and rectify this problem in future iterations for users who leave their device plugged in.

Zong 4g wingle can be left plugged in all day with any good quality (250rs. +) charger, power bank or car usb port.

I hooked my device with sony 850 mp charger, always on except loadsheding and result is same. I think think there is no overcharge protection in mifi device. 1200 is way too much I'll try to buy it from AliExpress.

Few options on Aliexpress and cost also around 1200 and not original Huawei

have this one which came with my ptcl 3g evo wifi cloud seems similar in dimensions except thickness as it is 2600mAh
Needs to be experimented on some mifi device

So ported my ufone number to jazz prepaid.Number got ported within 2 days call quailty is better then ufone but 3g is big disappointment doesnt work at all speed test is showing 0.6mbps download checked coverage for my area by dialing some code and it says my area is covered.Called helpline to and they said that your details r not showing in our records wait for 4 working days and then call again.I mean why the hell i should wait if number is working fine except their 3g.Disappointed. @inception help as u r also using moblink.

You need to wait 4 to 6 working days if you have ported ... Signals work fine ... secondly this happened to me as when I ported to Mobilink ... Dont know abt 3G but I am on postpaid

Today finally brought the battery taken off from a packed Zong mi_fi device. Cost 1500 rs. From mid way mall near Rehmanabad metro station.

Checked the entire 6th road mobile market and they said they don't sell router or device batteries.

1) Postpaid connection with at least 2500 security deposit.

2) A Blackberry device running BB OS 7, for example: Bold 9900, Curve 9360, etc

3) Go home with your postpaid SIM and call 120 (Blackberry helpline), ask them to convert your package to BIS. They will obviously ask questions about NIC number and whatnot, proceed with that and get your package converted.

4) Enjoy unlimited data.

AFAIK, you won't get 3G speed on BIS internet

3g speeds greatly depands on your area i guess.
