On the way from Kalabagh towards Abbotabad.
Since we were driving downhill (from approx. 8,500 feet), I made a mistake in that I was driving the car in neutral and had my foot on the brakes. This led to the brakes getting very hot and smoke started coming out of brake pads in the front two wheels. I then stopped the car and let it cool down for around 20 mins. This could have had been very dangerous as the brakes can fail. Due to the steep downward slopes, all the pressure is on the brakes and in order to reduce this pressure, the car MUST be in a low gear (either 1 or 2, depending on how steep the slope is). This way, half the pressure will be on the gear, and the other half on the brakes.
PWheeler's please make sure to remember this, if you are travelling on a hilly area, to avoid any accidents.
