the later santro used wasted spark ignition system - meaning the plugs fired once on compression and also on exhaust. Using multitip plugs can cause massive backfire through the intake if there is any valve overlap. When a waste spark system fires - one plug fires on opposite polarity - because that cylinder is not under compression load and the airgap between the electrodes is easier to ionize.
It is due to this nature the SAAB trionic ignition system can sense compression and relay compression load to the ECU informing which cylinder fired last and what was the compression load - causing it to adjust ignition timing and boost too. Using multitip plugs in a SAAB trionic is "heavy damage time"
