BT does not have AFM, u dont need to have all the air pipe going to the end till AFM like in ST. BT can save a bit of a space from that

4age20v till 1996 was silvertop. later in 1997 black head engine came was called black top.

physical size difference,, hardly any..

techinical .. yes a few diffirent ecu. map sensored like your 4afe corolla instead of afm which was in silvertop.

internal design , compression ratio increased from 10.5:1 to 11:1 , lighter piston rods etc,, gain of 5 horsepower. from 160 hp to 165hp

hash bhai. you can make a silvertop run on map sensored system,, so you wont need afm anymore.

i personally suggest go for a engine who's parts are avaliable easy and cheaper because the engines dont run for ever,, these r 2nd hand to start with..,, select any,, and so far silvertop is more in pak compared to bt, unless things have changed.

i also think black top will rate some space but it is still not recommended for starlet in any case

muddy yr right,,later versions of 20v had 6 speed attached from factory but these things can bolted if avalaible and desired by user.

The sprinter Ae81 and Ae80 Corolla are exactly the same mechanical wise only difference is in the skin.

As for a 20V st I say if you can find a BT better coz one of the main reasons the 20V was changed from AFM to MAP is the inaccurate air flow readings from a flap type AFM which the ST was equipped with. This was the cheapest type of AFM out of the three that could be installed on the ST. The similar type of AFM was available on the 3S-GTE and was changed on the later ones to MAP.

Another reason why ST cannot be forced inducted unless AFM is changed to MAP..

1988 charade engine room is bigger then EP71 ... People here swapped Honda B16 and I have heard that some guy swapped H22 as well ... so there is a size difference …
But question is that why sizes are different … ? Let’s take example of stock engines came with EP70/71 … 1E, 2E, 2E-FE, 2E-TE, no 4E or 4A series engines came as stock … whereas the in later versions of starlets, there are different series of engines e.g: 4E, 4E-FE, 4E-FTE, 1N(diesel) etc … these engines are big in size as compare to engines came in EP70/71 series … 4E-FE comes with corolla as well, the engine room of corolla and EP82 is more or less same and support engine with four foundations … “4A” series engines are also available in corolla … its easy to swap a 4A series engine in later model starlets like EP82 but in EP71 the engine room looks full when you put a 4E series engine. Sera beetle came with 5E-FHE and it’s a 1.5L engine, so swapping a 4A is not a big deal …
… I think this will give you some picture about the engine & engine rooms

Well @Racer Bhai.......thanx for telling me that AE81 Sprinter was all EE-80 except skin.........!well i wanna know that is that possible to fit front/rear shocks of Corolla Diesel (EE90/EE100)in Sprinter...bcz after heavy motor...suspension needs to be stiffed and surely i need a diesel ones....so plz tell me that is that easily fits or need some damn alterations...
well......i can't take risk buying car 1st and then if engine won't fit...whole things spoil.....! so i reject the Ep71.......since i like this car as well as its good thing is that whole body kit of EP was available and looks awsome.....!Unfortunately i can't just stay with bodykit if engine-room won't allow 20V in it...!!sorry EP

now....i am making my mind to get a good Sprinter in good shape (probably in White or RED) and engine all of you know.....20V BT....! yeah...Racer bhai i find it there in shershah...but its with 4AGE ST 5 spped tranny...not 6 speed one....!
i have doubts that BT intake box is slightly bigger than ST one.....maybe i am wrong....
well i think Sprinter can easily fit a 20V making my life easier bcz in KP and EP...things are totally changed...!
well@Hash....man good news....Sprinter is heavier than Ur G100...so no problem :p......i can't wait longer...i need a Wide angle DOHC breathing in my cars engine room

tell me one thing....Sensors of all 4A series engine are same or they differ like ST have its own BT have its own and 4AFE have its own..since all are from 4A series....! and i think 4AGE comes with stronger axles than normal one....!
well...hope this time i will succeed with a good Sprinter find.....that remind me of AE86 all time!!

ST in Sprinter is pretty old in our town. the car was used in many races. engine was thrown out of that car, which later went in a toyota sera in lhr

yeah....hash man i don't care who makes what.......i am doing this all just bcz i wanna do that and wanna enjoy the drive.....racing is never ever my intension.......!i wanna make some nice good car which i can enjoy driving and have some fun when needed.......!
b/w.....if 20V was fitted in KP....what happens all know....
but fitting it in kp + diff needs to be solid also......!!
that makes some good combination........KP with 20v is no doubt very difficult but not impossible....!that will become one of its own kind car

A 1N (1500cc) diesel fits easy in this starlet so I think a BT or ST wont be a problem either weight wise and looking at these pics the space isnt that big a problem either.
