4WD Rental from ISL to SKARDU

This is the best of that route v came across

Yes exactly this point..... From here one could even hike down to the bridge in 5-10 min. but instead the vehicles had to take the long route and it took us more than 50-60 min. to reach this bridge from this point.

Also this year we met many people who have crossed this road using 2WD vehicles like Cultus, Mehran, Bolan and many Corollas although I would not recommend to use these low ground clearance vehicles... For a 4WD vehicle it is a piece of cake or another day at the office. Also 1 hour before reaching Chilas the carpeted road starts. This carpeted road is in patches of 1km to 2km's.... But still it is much better then the road on the other side of the Babusar top.....

Imtishal Dear, are you a horror story writer, do you think ppl never used that route for travel,, Bhai koi Mufeed Mashwara do, to cross Babusar Pass, Don't Horrify my Lovely friend,, Yaar tum tu Mujh jesay Sar Phiraay ko Khufzada kr rahay ho, Simple Traveler ka to Hashar he Ho Jay Ga...

Bhai jaan....I never meant to horrify anyone...But wanted to share the actual ground realities...Before taking on that route i was too told that the road is fine and all metaled.koi bacha bhi ja sakta hai.But jab kudh pohanch kar deikha tou story bilqul opps thi.
Ab i don't know log sirf tang karne kaye liye eyessa karte hein,eik tooti-phooti road ko motorway banana, kah hum tou dobaye hein sanam tumko bhi laye doubein gaye. Ya phir unko yeh sab kuch normal lagta hai.Ya phir woh gaye hi nahi hotaye bus false information spread kar dayete hein.
As for 'Mufeed Mashwara' ,My point of posting in the thread was,this route is not at all better then the KKH route,If not worse.han plus point yeh hai kah it's greener and climate is gud.

I have just returned from a family road trip from Islamabad to Skardu, which included the very long route through Astor, Rama and the WHOLE 6 hours of Deosai plains. The trip went very well and we are happy we did not fly to Skardu.

Will write my travelogue in about a week once I catch up with work emails
