After our tea break journey started once again and reached KKH at Jaglot around 5 pm, road from Jaglot to Hunza is newly constructed wide road and you can easily cruise at 70-80 km/h, reached Hunza at 0830 pm, from Hunza to Eagles Nest Duikar road is too much steep, it took us almost an hour in H4 to reach hotel.
We were dead tired, looked at the rooms and placed our luggage, ordered dinner, meanwhile we started communicating with our families and suddenly a bad news came that one of our group member had a theft at his home yesterday, it was quite upsetting news for everyone thought what to do next?
Finally decided to leave for Lahore so after taking dinner, we prayed to Allah that we return home safe and sound as it is not advisable to travel on KKH from Chilaa to Besham at night.
We left at 11pm from Eagles Nest, we were all alone with some trucks came across only, crossed Gilgit and made a short stay at a petrol pump to wait for sunrise to move forward, then moved to a tea hotel and carried on till raikot bridge and crossed it early morning and reached Shangrilla Chilas at 0530 am, took breakfast and some rest left at 0630 for besham and reached at 1230 pm at PTDC Besham for lunch and prayer break.
Road from Chilas to Besham is bumpy with some bad patches but you can maintain average speed of 40-50km/h.
Left Besham at 0130 pm for home sweet home and reached Burhan interchange at 0830 pm, now the next journey seems relaxing.
Stopped at KFC Sial more for dinner and to wind up our trip and finally reached home at 0330 am.
Thanks almighty Allah for safe and sound journey with excellent memories that will last forever in sha Allah.
We have really tested this old cruiser to the limits, travelled from Shigar to Hunza and then to Lahore in 40 hrs continuous with only one hour break each for breakfast, lunch and dinner, down side is we were not having distilled battery water with us, so we poured mineral water in battery and due to continuous heat it boiled off resulted in damaging one cell of one battery but you need to replace both batteries in 24V vehicles anyway its a minor job as compared to what we did and how we did, last but not least:
It was a team effort and without it this trip could not have been managed.
Stay tuned for further trips in sha allah.
