there is one thing said about the China, that they are very defensive about revealing their defense related projects, unless they have some thing on ground to show they won't come to the press, even in the case of JF-17 it was us, Pakistan, who went to the press to showoff what we are building otherwise they were mostly like leakages to the press.

China has gone leaps and bounds in defense technology, the reason is the close collaboration with Russia, Russians not only need dollars, they need some to fight the war they have lost, India was once their close ally, now even Indians have changed their policies according to their own needs, China remains the one Russia can actually bank upon because both have pretty much similarities in their political and social structure, further if you go through the history during WW1 Russian navy attacked Japanese navy to defend china from the wrath of Japan.

Even if China is helping Pakistan they have their own need to have a ally in south Asia, we must not forget that China & India fought a war in 1962, even they have currently tension over Dalai Lama, Arunachal Pradesh.

brothers j-10 is a similar plane to eurofighter,it took europe 25 years to build eurofighter and china 5 years to make a better copy,
as far as j-xx,its a copy of f-22 raptor,but it will be better and meaner.

j-10 doesnt have thrust vectoring,like the eurofighter but j-xx has like the f-22.

in the end great news makes me really happy and proud to be a Pakistani and have China as a friend(real not like backstabbing us)

ORIGIN OF J-10

The program started in 1986, to counter new fourth generation fighters then being introduced by the USSR (MiG-29 and Su-27). Since China has always been very secretive about its military projects there are a few theories about J-10's origin.

A Chinese magazine in 1979 published an image that showed a boy holding a model of J-10.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in 1987 cancellation of the Israel's Lavi project due to heavy costs and pressure from USA. But its said that it was taken over by Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Corporation (CAIC) and the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) carried on only with the development of avionic equipment.

Since neither China nor Israel were capable of developing the propulsion system required by the J-10, in 1991 China acquired the AI31F turbofan engine from Russia for incorporation into the J-10 fighter. This engine is also used in the Su-27 air superiority fighter that Chinese acquired from Russia.

The first flight of the J-10 took place sometime in 1996, the program suffered a major delay due to a fatal accident which occurred in 1997.

After 18 years in development, the J-10 finally entered service in 2004.

^^thats bcz israelis were working with chinese on lavi prject, but due to american pressure and american concern, that the chinese will get sensitive and technical know-how....israel backed-out....but it was too late !!...hahahah....and here we have, J-10 !!

The first pic is the prototype of the aircraft.
Followed by mod edits.

The news arcticle from Hindustan times is outdated... plz provide the date of the arcticle and it seems to be around 5yrs old.
Then the pic of the aircraft over Shengyang, China.its the su-30mkk, the su-30mki is Indials su-30 and the su-30mkk is the china varient of the su-30.Its the same aircraft but with different avionics.
Then, the arcticle china develops stealth fighter, if they could, they would never have wastes millions in buying the su-30mkk and then more millions on transfer of techno.

And then the russian stealth fighter PAK-FA!!!!!

Pak-FA is TOP SECRET..Minor details available on its Russian website which is written in Russian which even many russians cant read!!!And another major evelopment the sukhoi is going to make is the PAK-DA.Thats gonna be a 5th gen. fighter jointly developed between India and Russia.The aircraft is gonna go to production only after 2012.

Get it guys, we are not gonna get acess to 5th gen so soon.
Even the su-30mki, which is the best aircraft in the world after the F-22, is considered a 4.5 gen. aircraft.

P.S.:I AM NOT SAYING THIS BECAUSE SU-30MKI IS IN THE INDIAN AIR FORCE, EVEN IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE BANGLADESH AIRFORCE, I WOULD HAVE SAID THE SAME THING.Because it's so damm good.
