R u sure this is 7afe because i had a swap in my 86 n got the same motor almost same as urs but that was 5afe ? i m uploading some pics plz find the difference i m quite confuse now

when i got swap done on my 86 i was told it a 1600 CC motor but later on i search internet found that it was 5afe ... but still it has excelent pickup quite more den i expected plz lemme know wat kind of motor i have in my ride coze i m confused now n plz tell me if u find any difference in both

well we(me and my elder brother) have a toyota corolla 99 model.its basically my elder brothers ride. it was a XE so it had a 2E 1.3 SOHC carbi engine. which in my view is totally totally underpowered as compare to the body of the car plus when u instal CNG and AC is on then there is no pick at all
so we deicied to go for a swap, our previous engine was in good shape . there was no smoke or no oil decreasing problem so this swap was just to get heavy power under the hood.

well as for those who are not very familiar with engine number let me elebarte
2E is a 1300 cc carborator type Single Over Head Cam engine which produces i think 60 Bhp only
where as
7AFE is a 1800 cc EFI type Dual Over Head Cam which produces around 130 + Bhp

so basically its nearly double the power.the swapp was very sucessfull. the car performance is AMAZING and THRILLING.i havent really tested 0-100 but i will do it in next few day

i have got the pictures in my cell. i will transfer it to my laptop and will upload in next fwe days

in this swap we were greatlly helped by AAQIB BAHI whose nick is mochamizoo i think

i m new in PW family i believe this one of the best platform for car lovers in pak... well i got some reservation about the engine ...
i dont have that much knowledge of Toyota A series motors and i would like to ask all the experts here
about 7afe ,,

i also had swap done on my 86 i got 5afe 1500 CC motor for my 86 :

the motor in my ride looks almost the same as urs so i was wondering mayb i got 1800 CC luckily , nah cant be that much lucky lol
ya phir mujhe koi mistake ho rai hai dono pics compare karnay main...

i googled down 7afe 1800 CC and found this on most of toyota forums :

i have seen 7afe motor i shoba bazar when i was selecting the enigne for my swap and there i found that there is lot of diference in the buterfly of 7afe as compared to 5afe, 5afe butterfly is in round (anda) shape not square one .....
.. in appearnce 4afe and 7afe are almost same just 200 CC diff n both are 16 Valve but as compared to 4age and black n silver top which are 20 valve and yeah ofcourse cant forget the supercharged on 4a-Gelu

so if i am wrong some where plz corect me... i am quite confused now...

yes bro i had complete rebuild there was no major accident just paint job now working on interior....

Thanx for the information that was indeed helpfull ... Sir it cost me around 40 k for swap i had to chage the stock auto trany wid manual and the power sterring ... every thing was included in 40k.. i was done 3 months back ... and one of my cousin helped me out during the whole swap.. this engine came with it genuine compresor later on it cot me additional 10k for new radiator (do nali wala ) and for hooking up the ac... so in total it cost me around 50k. the old motor was in pretty bad condition it was diesel n they took in just 13000 as replacement.

as for my car it is 7AFE 1.8 16valve DOHC EFI engine and urs is 5AFE 1.5 16 valve DOHC EFI engine

@levin . if i am not wrong the 4AGE u r refering to is 20V .so i think there is no comparasion betwen a 20V 4age and 16V 7afe . they stand in diffrent classes. also i checked it in market . there is a noticeable diffrence in pricess as well .
This 7afe swap costed me a total of 48k cash plus 2E engine adjustment(thats all expenses inclusive) and as for the 4AGE 20v,the engine alone was 55k plus almost 20 k for the swap charges. so 48k and 75 k have almost 27 k diffrence
also as i have heard that the 4AGE work best when run on HI- OCTANE which obviously i cant do .
