People do this when the catcon gets dirty and they notice the car has lost its pickup. This is a cheap and long term fix but as a result you get loud sound and poor mileage.

Proper way to clean a catcon is to disassemble it and clean with chemical. And I don’t think you can get the mesh separately...

We have put this issue on a "hold" due to the cost involved, will be addressing other issues first, then this one

I see. From what you are telling about the cooling system behavior I think the T-valve is working fine. It is building up pressure in the system which is why that minor leak which was previously not noticeable has come to light now. Can’t suggest anything on how to fix the leak, maybe get an opinion by a good radiator wala. Also, this is normal for the temp gauge to fall below normal on highway speeds because of the cool breeze flowing from ahead. About the late idle temp approach, I think it because of having water in the system. Remember, solely based on cooling properties, water is the benchmark, but because of its ‘other’ properties it is not preferred. This might go away once you have coolant in the system.

Do a step wise approach, first and foremost get the radiator leak solved. Then move on to the water and t-valve, or if you’re too doubtful about the t-valve functioning, get all three things changed together.

With a proper functioning T valve the temperature of the car should not fall even if driven on the North pole.
Before installing the T valve always check its temperature ratings and also always buy OEM quality.

Bro hurt to know all the mess you faced ....I own a 2007 manual hard top.has no catcon as I bought the car there is nothing like burden sound at all if you really don't concentrate on that..I'm enjoying b the drive since 3 years as well.secondly faced that radiator issue as you are facing many check ups engine wala radiator wala dealership all of no work finally changed with a kabali (Thailand) 2 slot radiator costed me almost 8k end it up.now all is ma sha ALLAH 100% perfect.may be same can get you rid out of your problem.I found 8th gen the most reliable car in all the ways.getting around 12 km in local and 15km/p on highways motorway..

My mistake. Yes, seems like t-valve has a lower opening temperature or is getting stuck in the open position

I know about places in karachi. But couldn’t guide you about other cities sorry. Try calling up a Honda dealership and ask them about the price. Which will be above market for sure but you’ll get an idea

Excellent figures Masha Allah, I've brought radiator stop leak (liqui moly), one more experiment before radiator change. So u bought it from junkyard of your city? What is the name of this double slot radiator's name in the language of mechanics?

What is the quantity of engine oil to be poured in reborn? I think it is 3.7 litres but some people are suggesting me 4 litres. With 3.7 litres and oil folter change, not being able to see the oil on the dipstick. Anybody plz?

Yup since day one I'm doing the same I'm replacing filter on alternate oil change.make it sure to change oil 100-200km before reaching the recommended mileage of that particular oil.

We have 07 model hard top prosmatec. The front suspension (jhoola) was done at 85k KMs. But shock absorbers were not vhanged. The suspension has gone really stiff now at 103k KMs. It literally explodes on every small pothole. I guess the shock absorbers have gone bad. I have some questions:

1. There are two types of shocks available, Honda OEM and KYB Japan. Which one to opt for? (OEMs= 42k approx, KYB= 29k, the prices are for all 4 shocks). A vakue for money comment would be preferred.
2. Can I get some softer shocks for my car? like comparitively softer thn the OEMs?
3. How is the stiffness of KYB compared to OEMs?
4. What are disadvantages of using these hardened shocks for some more time, like 10-15k KMs?

I’ve a silent reader here for lots of time and really came to appreciate how you guys help out.

This is Ahmed from Lahore and I’m into accountancy.

Now, finally, I’ve bought my teenage dream car: It’s a 2011 Black Hardtop Prosmatec with 63K on the dial and some oriel upgrades like navigation and alloys. I’ll post pictures over the weekend and be asking for a lot of tips and help.

For now, I’m going for an oil and air filter change plus checking all other fluids. Except that my current wish list includes:

Mutimedia Steering
New Steering Logo (or sticker, if that’s better)
Getting rid of few small white heads over body
Getting leather poshish (thinking black and red)
Getting some moderate to hq speakers

It will be great if experienced guys can give me a cost estimate and tell me where could I find all this stuff? I wanted to avoid Montgomery road due to its traffic.

Looking forward to regular posting.

Apart from sound system and poshish everything can be delievered to home...multimedia sterring is availible at olx and honda monogram can be delievered by sehgal motors dont know wether they get the poshish get done at doorstep you can confirm by calling them
Buttons for sterring can be bought for around 5k for multimedia and cruise both poshish is for approx 4k to 8k depending on material and logo can be bought for arnd 500 the reh h logo
