Please get the 'catalytic converter' checked before buying any Civic. 8th Gen civic was the first Euro-4 by Honda and most of the old ones have chocked catalytic converter and a new catalytic costs just 77, 000/- rupees from Honda.

This is a must ! Also the condition of catalytic converter gives you an idea how well it wss driven and about the quality of fuel used

Also if the oil , fuel filters and gear oil etc are replaced ontime and car is okay..manual should give you around 9-10 kpl in city 14-15 kpl on highway

Bro how to check the catalytic convertor by ourselves?is there any way or any symptom by which we can know that catalytic convertor is chocked..and I heard some ppl remove the convertor then hw to know if it is removed when buying a used civic reborn?

Just got a 2012 Honda Civic iVTEC Prosmatec from work in white colour. It's 18K driven and just like brand new. Primary option given was a Corolla GLI Manual but this is much much better. Will post pictures soon. 9th Gen Civic coming soon

Last local driven and got 12.98 KMPL with mixed drive style
On GT Road it went to 18.79 KMPL yesterday figure
And its manual Oriel

Hes right. A well tuned manual 1.8 easily easily gives 11km/l locally and 14km/l on long.
I got 14.8 km/l on motorway with speed kept at 140.
I'm getting 12.5 km/l locally with normal + light foot.

How to check abt catalytic convertor ???

If catalytic converter is choked heavy on petrol plus aluggish pick up, at 3 to 4k rpm u will hardly reach a speed of 100, with ac car will be like a 1000 cc car.

If there is a phati hoi sound coming than this means converter removed.

Guys also note that choked converters can be serviced plus converter should be serviced after every 10k it can be serviced by anybodu himself.

Reason for a choked converter is low quality fuel our hi octane octane level is also noy recommend for 1.8.

U can change octane level of petrol by using liqui moly octane booster or a mix of hi octane plus super

I was worried too about its fuel consumption as heard most about low fuel average but believe e when bought it and drive it its amazing machine with great average.
U will not believe but i got 21+ on GT Road. with light foot and range between 80 - 95 KMPH. and thats the only reason i am maintaining it because i do not like black color its hard to clean
