@Xulfiqar bhai @SER_GTR bhai & @capsat bhai, we had left off deciding that the core should actually be repaired / replaced rather that disconnecting it, however, no AC Technician is ready amidst the summer season and has termed the heater core job as an 'off season job' that would be done in winters. I could have waited will winters but unfortunately, the core had leaked and the entire carpet and flooring had become damp. Last month, I had disconnected the lines to prevent any further loss of coolant. The coolant levels are now intact but the dampness on the carpet isnt drying out. I had left the car in the sun for many days but still it is not drying off.
Friends have suggested to get the car cleaned from the inside i.e. removal of seats and washing of the carpet. I have a doubt that despite being disconnected, there is some residue left in the heater which is dripping on the carpets even after a month. Is it possible or is it simply the old coolant that isnt evaporating from the carpets. Since no AC technician is willing to perform the heater core replacement job before the next 2-3 months, I was thinking to get the car comprehensively cleaned from inside to get rid of the dampness / odor and prevent any corrosion that could be caused due to the dampness.
i am a little skeptical about the inter cleaning job incase the core still has some coolant left in it which is dripping. Please guide as to whether the old coolant isn't drying off or if the disconnected core is still leaking. I am fearing that if its a leaky core, then all the effort and money spent on inter cleaning might go waste.
Please help me out.
