Some experience with Locals

At raikot there is a small shop in front of Shangrilla hotel. From there you can get mineral water, juices, cake, toffees, Gums and soaps, shampoo, hair oil etc. The shop is run by local Baba ji who was cousin of Raikot Imam masjid. Baba ji is pious and honest person. His rates are normal and almost equal to the rates in Punjab.

We discussed the track condition and trekking time. He told us that trekking from Raikot to Tattoo is a rare practice but it?s not impossible. He encouraged us to do so. He said that many emotional Punjabi guys try but after one or two hours they come back and then they have to go to jeep. He further told us that those locals who are attached with tourism like Jeep drivers and guides will never show us the right picture. These locals always speak in front of tourists that this trek is impossible and this is very difficult track even some say death track. These all are rumors and they are wrong. Now we were more determinant to conquer the trek.

When I returned from the shop I met with a local guy who was jeep driver and belonged to Tattoo. He tried to convince me that we should go on jeep and its safe and energy saving. I replied to him if he can go in Rs. 2000 ? only. He looked angrily and walked away.

Haha.. you did right thing to that person. The jeep fare is so high and overall jeep drivers are harsh and do not listen to you.

Assalamoalaikum
I am going to fairy meadows with 2 friend.
Since our budget is low, we will be trekking all the way from raikot to fairy meadows
This thread was a major inspiration for us, I thank you guys for sharing such an awesome experience with us I'll do the same when we get back INSHALLAH
