Official bird which represents the national symbol of Bahawalpur state is Palican.

I was a bit confused that, what's the relation between Palican and Bahawalpur ???
As Palican lives at ocean and Bahawalpur state is more of a desert area with no sea around.

We were told that the Nawabs of Bahawalpur were inspired by some attributes of Palican (which I have not seen in Palicans so far ) that's why they chose Palican as thier symbol.
