“A short trip with a long drive". Trip to Cholistan, Derawar fort, Bahawalpur and around

Weather must be too cold and fogy at that time?

Now, let's move to the "Lights and sound show" part.

Sofas and front 2 rows were reserved for VIPs (families of army officers). So we got seats in 3rd row.
Farhan was driving all the time since last night and not slept for a single minute. So as soon as we got seated, Farhan was gone to dream land.
Lights were off because of the show and silence was in the air. Weather also turned a bit chilly. An ideal ambiance for a deep sleep.

Show was supposed to start by now.
Time was up. But as you know that in Pakistani culture, it's a disgrace for VIPs if they arrive on time. So, officers families started arriving after 6.30.

We had purchased the tickets but the show was free for families of army officers, so they were coming along with all their chacha, mama, taya, khala and phuppies and their children. As every family considered themselves as VIP, so every one wanted to be seated on front sofas.
Initially we were getting irritated by the delay but now we were enjoying the situation and misery on the faces of management staff.

When they all were done with the "musical chair" activity and all the “tabbars" got settled, finally the show started.
Interesting part is that the show duration was not more then 15 minutes but it started almost an hour late.

Anyways, coming to the show ;
It was actually arranged by projectors and light images, reflected on the building of palace.
You can say, it's a documentary about Bahawalpur state and Nawabeen.

A brief introduction of culture, history and colours of Bahawalpur state. Family history of Nawabeen and merger of state of Bahawalpur with Pakistan.

At the end of the show, lights were on and the Palace lit up like anything.
That was wonderful.

It was a beautiful view.

It ended in around 15 minutes but it's worth watching.
A good effort indeed. If you visit Bahawalpur and the show is on, you must watch it. It's quite a different experience, you won't get anywhere else.

The show was over, we woke up Farhan and rushed towards our car before all the public gets out.
