Have your ac checked for vaccum and have all the valves checked...

The symptoms point towards 2 more possibilities:
1- As Xulfiqar said, Icing on the evaporator. This happens due to low refrigerant (a/c gas)
2- Your evaporator is sucking hot outside air from the fresh air vents.

1) I am in Karachi2) I got this Khyber 2.5 years ago. At the time, the AC wasn't operational. It was only 6 months ago that I got it serviced. Some components were added new while others were only serviced:

a) Evaporator coils - servicedb) Compressor - servicedc) The AC grill (the one next to radiator grill) - brand newd) That bottle thing - brand newe) Blower - serviced

please also check AC refrigerant.
If it is underfilled or overfilled, it may cause icing on AC pipes/evaporator, hence the ac is unable to throw cold air.

I checked the compressor clutch as suggested by some. It's engaging and rotating with the compressor fine both when the cooling is good and when it stops.

I guess a technician will be able to diagnose the problem best but I'd really appreciate someone interested in fixing my current system rather than asking me to get a new AC unit installed for maximum profits.

I'd like to mention a problem which I'm not sure is relevant to this problem: the blower speed is really low. Even with fan set to max (4th position), the blower's throw is is really low (about what you'd get at position 2 in a properly functioning system). I asked my local technician to try replacing the blower. He used a Cultus blower and the throw IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS BEFORE. Not even 1% difference.

If changing the blower didn't increase the air throw, what could be the problem? And could this be related to the problem of AC cooling dropping off after running for a while?

It looks like your car ac evaporator is fully choked with dust and air flow is very low. It may also cause triping of ac. Clean it.

Its either icing or the expansion valve is installed wrong or is bad.

visit sajid car cooling system at Tariq road. give reference of Pakwheels inshallah apka kaam acha hoga bht jaiz rates me. i rebuild my complete honda city ac before selling. he repaired the existing compressor and its still working with the buyer sold last year and all others said new compressor lagyga lol. bashir ac wala is good too but opens his mouth you must have alot of bucks under your pocket. so sajid is good. reasonable and trustworthy

Yup it looks like a choke evaporator/coil. But I am amazed itna khurcha karnay ke baad bhi kisi technician ka dhian evaporator par nahi gaya, it should be the first thing they should check and clean.
