I dont have pics with me but I have seen so many workshops on back alleys of jail road showrooms and many other places building JDM from "dhaancha" .. and at the end they are sold as 4 grade cars
Next time i visit i will definitely take some pics .
now for my 2 cents in the sea of posts :
I read the staring 3-4 pages of this thread . Just want to add my own experience and some thoughts:
I was looking for 660cc JDM (mira e:s, move, wagonR) for personal use .. for 3 months I searched and checked 'dozens' of cars through pakwheel ads as well as roaming in markets ... my conclusions :
- 98% of the small (660cc to 1000cc) JDMs sold by dealers are accidental and repaired/remade locally
Out of those 98% .... 90% lie about the grade and condition of the car. Either they say that 'jee auction sheet is ke saath nhi thi' blah blah ... those who give auction sheets , they are fake.
Many people now days buy cars from some "jaannay wala" and they trust that they will not fraud them. but they all get repaired cars being called at 4/4.5 grade cars.
Now please don't get me wrong .. most of these accidental + repaired cars work fine . pakistani mechanics and denters are 'real' ustaads .. if they can put new life in a 40 years old car to ye to phir new cars hain
4 grade car ki self import bhi aap ko 10.5lac se kam ki nhi parti .. that is the "minimum" .. and you expect to buy 4 grade in 10lac or less ? !
With the market rates and situation due to all above, even if a dealer tries being honest , buys in bulk and save as much as can .. a good non-accidental 3.5 / 4 grade .... cannot get more than 20-30k profit . 2.5 months of investment of 1Million rs , that too having risk of car being damaged in way .. that is very less profit , no sane businessman will do .
at last my advice : if you really want to buy a JDM non-accidental good grade ,
1) Self import through importer, paying him fixed service fee, you select your car yourself on auction get genuine auction sheet etc.
2) find an honest dealer and have money to pay 10% more than the market rate .
