I don't understand what's with all this fuss. The problem is with Pakistani importers/dealers and NOT Japanese car market or auction houses. No one forces these importers to buy accident grade cars, and neither do Japanese auction houses cheat to sell them to these shady importers who import them, repair them in a bid to sell them for maximum profit.
And JDM cars are NOT refurbished as many think around here. Even local Japanese people buy cars from these auction houses for personal use. There is no real concept of used car dealerships in Japan. Everyone buys from these auction houses.
It just happens so that our crooked dealers are laalchi and want to make over 2 lacs for even a small 660cc car. That amount these people can only make if they import an accident rated car as an actual 4/5 grade car would only make them 30-50k, and that too if they have a lucky bid on a good day.
Problem remains with Pakistan middlemen aka dealers here, NOT the JDM used car market.
