There is hardly any guarantee that the JDM we'll buy is non-accidented or accidented but immaculately repaired or accidented and badly repaired. There is only one route of buying JDM cars, in my view, and that is find a dealer who is willing to let you select/bid for the JDM car yourself and takes care of the paper work while you just pay his commission on top of the car price+shipping+clearance+insurance etc.
This is the only way where you'll know the JDM car you are getting, its accurate mileage, its condition, accident history, touch ups etc. A friend of my brother purchased a passo in Islamabad a year ago, from his dealer friend... he was sold 2008 model but afterwards he found out that the model is 2007 and not 2008. May be one year difference doesn't make much difference but why lie about it?
No matter how much you trust a dealer they still find a way to make a quick buck. I may be willing to buy a 3.5 grade JDM car if I like it but I should be aware that its a 3.5 grade with its proper history.
