Brother the stock Civic from Lahore Honda factory comes with local springs (from imported coils) and KYB standard shocks.
Now the 85% civic of 2001-05 model on roads are on kabar suspension as the genuine springs from Honda cost 7,000 for rear and 12,000 for front and add up front KYB shocks Malaysia for 20,000 and rear 9,000. I have not included the cost of bushes, axles, CV joints etc as it will easily reach for 50K.
No one bothers to spend that much on a 9-10 years old car because they know that they would not get any return.
I would also either keep the car for coming 10 years or swap the shocks in my new Honda.
When we imported CF-3 the regulatory duty was very high and after July the same car was imported for just 2.0M. Even then the market is of no more than 950K max even for my father's car.
Coming to Civic v CF-3 comparison, CF-3 is heavy and big and it does not inspire confidence unless you are driving it for the past 10 years. Its heavy on fuel (4 speed auto), F series engine is old tech and body parts are expensive. My Dad also had a 1997 W202 C180 Elegance imported roughly at the same time. The market value of W202 is also 800k to 1.0M for facelift models and its miles better than any Accord or Camry.
2009-10 City is much better than both 2005 Civic and CF-3 in all aspects except the interior and plastic quality. Drive-train is a gem and engine is very responsive and economical among the best available in Pakistan as responsive as the 6 speeder Altis. So if u can close your eyes to the dashboard its hands down better than 2005 Civic and CF-3 that is why used car prices of City are at par with Reborn. City gives roughly 160km in one tank of CNG for Rs. 500 or 13-14 km /l easily even for a 2009-10 model.
What is the point of a daily driver if you cant drive it daily for 30-40 kms. My father dont even let me drive his cars. I hate such mummy daddy cars which set on the shade and driver keeps polishing them. highly impractical. But then again I am not at that age.
The last good Accord for Pakistan was the CA-4 3G Accord of 1986-1989. Afterwards they started to make ugly dinosaurs with the only exception of JDM CF-3 and CL-7/9.
