Accord CL9 New Owner's Thread

Loving it. Like i said earlier, it has transformed the car as I had been driving on weak shocks for months.

My Altis has kinda ruined me in a way, as its so soft and compliant hence why I felt that the Accord was overly stiff while driving it. Handling wise its wayy better but after months of driving a Corolla, the Accord initially felt stiff and hard still. But after a week of driving, its apparent that the ride of the Accord has improved tremendously. My father also sampled it and said the car felt transformed.

For the price, these Tokico's cant be beat. Cheaper than KYB and at par for what they charging for repaired original shocks. Highly recommend. I've heard ppl have gotten 4 years easy with them on CL9's so I'm happy

Got those from Mardan..he has few parts of Uplift model like Steering, back lights door handles etc...

Hello fellow wheelers. i have a strange problem with air vents. A week ago my center vents have stopped blowing air. I can hear the air blowing but it is not coming from center vents. Any guidance regarding this issue will be much appreciated.

Hello fellow wheelers. i have a strange problem with air vents. A week ago my center vents have stopped blowing air. I can hear the air blowing but it is not coming from center vents. Any guidance regarding this issue will be much appreciated.

There are pipes that flow from the fan (left side of the dashboard) towards these vents. Has to be that those pipes have gotten loose somewhere or been disconnected. The dashboard will have to be opened up I guess.

The fan is to the left side of the dashboard, that's why generally you will see the pressure being least on the right side vent (one next to driver side door). The panel of the center 2 vents is very easy to remove. Just plant your fingers firmly close to where that panel meets the windscreen and pull towards you and it will come off. Mine is non-navi so no display, but ones that have display will of course have some electrical connection that might need to be disconnected. Once you have removed that center panel, there should be some clues there.

As for the fan, if you open the glovebox and remove the ac filter tray you will be able to see the fan. I guess when you switch it on then you should be able to see it spinning and get a clue as to whether there is anything wrong with the fan.

Thanks for the detailed response. I will look into it in the morning. One more thing I have changed my wipers with some generic ones. They do the job but leave some residue behind especially at the top of the blade. Can you suggest some wipers or share any tips? Thanks in advance.

Is this a daily runner?. I have no clue how to keep engine so sparkling clean. Damm I haven't washed my car in last 7 months.
Whenever I see such clean engine in such old model 1 thing always struck in my mind it belongs to either vaila banda or champi palish guy.
A detail inspection is must for this car. Don't go for just shinning looks.

I'm a sucker for clean engines too! But here is Karachi it's too dusty. Still I try to ensure that there aren't long intervals between engine cleaning so that dirt doesn't get caked on.

Car was just okayish and there is nothing to write home about. Biggest surprise was the car had stock radio and no Sat Nav as shown in the pictures. Something was fishy. Decided not to go after this one.

Owner claims only a portion of the hood was showered due to two scratches. Rest of the vehicle is all original and got glass coating recently. Only an expert painter / denter can verify that.

As I shared previously my cars headliner was hanging.

I wanted to get it fixed from the market. Was recommended Altaf beside dubai autos saddar for fixing headliner but he was charging 20k for fixing headliner along with pillars. I wasnt willing to pay so much for the headliner fix so decided to fix it myself.

@effaf27 was the DIY guy and I called him up for this project. This project took more than a month. Worked on it in free time.

So we removed the cars headliner to fix it.

@effaf27 removing the sunvisor.

Cleaned up using a stiff nylon brush

Put some sound deadening sheets on the roof

Bought the fabric and 3m 77 adhesive and NT-80

Watching multiple youtube videos, we used a steamer and a heat gun. The steamer didnt work well. it damaged the fabric so we didnt use it. We utilized only the heat gun.

After installation in the car. Only B pillar trim is remaining to be installed.

Headliner looks really good in person. Overall it was a good first experience. On a downside, on some places the headliner is not sticking. Air bubbles coming. We were extremely careful with the fabric installation and used sufficient adhesive. Still trying to figure out why on some small areas its not sticking while on others the fabric is sticking fine. We will be using a heat gun to try to re-stick the fabric where air bubbles developed or redo the headliner once it falls down again. Next time with some stronger adhesive.

This is fantastic. I'm planning to attempt as well but due to time constraint not starting. BTW is there any significant difference with noise reduction sheets?
